All of my attempts to find another crew for the Skeleton Thrones event yesterday.

  • 1 gameplay session, 2 servers, several crews, over 4 hours, and nada... this an excerpt with every attempt I made to find a crew yesterday. Going to try a different approach today.

  • 2 servers? You should try at least ten. If the first two ships don't participate you go to the next server.

  • Can’t say that I enjoy the meta aspect of doing that. I don’t tend to server hop when playing games like this - not particularly fun. Shouldn’t have to work around the game so much in order to play a particular aspect of it.

I hopped on Discord this evening to see if I could hook up with other crews. I found someone churning out the multi-crew stuff for players. It was very nice of him to do. It was also the least fun I’ve had in the game. Spent a couple hours at Marauder’s Arch like it was a tourist destination. I finally got my sit and waited while player after player joined from Discord to get it done. I ended up running out of time to play having only completed one of the five multi-crew sits.

I think that if I don’t happen to find a crew at the time when I’m willing to do these events, I just won’t do them. I stand by my opinion that if it takes significantly more time to find someone to do the event with than it takes to complete the event, something’s wrong with the way that event works.

  • @bran-the-ent Agree, say $1,000 gold per chair sit with another crew or something would be good! At least a bottle quest with some riches or something to promote the events co-op play

  • @bran-the-ent Good luck!

I absolutely love this game, and I love working with other crews...it creates some awesome adventures! But I have to agree with this. It can be difficult to find other ships willing to work with you, and it's unfair that someone may miss out on completing an event just because they didn't have the time or the luck to find another team to work with them.

Though I know it's unlikely we'll get on the same server, I promise I'll redo the thrones with you if we get lucky enough to get on the same server. My name in game is the same, MortarChelle.

  • @grimmycool Offering incentives to convince players to redo the events is a great idea, but would be abused. If you got $1K gold for sitting in the throne, people would just fire themselves repeatedly onto the chairs once they had the cannon positioned correctly and just wrack up money.

Perhaps Rare could offer daily challenges/prizes within the events for the multi-thrones. Example: Monday Challenge: Sit with a member of another crew on the throne at Marauder's Arch. Everyone who completes that wins 1k gold in the game just that one time. Tuesday, it could be a different throne...and so on.

  • @mortarchelle I think that if they generally incentivized multi-crew, that would be better. For example, if they allowed crews to do all the thrones on their own for the 8 doubloons, but 12 for multi-crewing them, that’d be great. And then, allow people to make up the balance if they replay with another crew. So, a crew that did it by themselves could get the extra 4 doubloons if they did them again.
