Hungering deep thoughts (The good and the bad)

  • So first off i have to say, Well done Rare. The final battle was nothing short of amazing and was better than i expected.

    Now the good thoughts:

Bilge rat Duke = Weekly event supplier?
    Final figurehead prize is amazing
Good new outpost logo, however this can be altered to a image of something related to those islands.
Alliances in the final battle is a great way to join up. With 1 flaw (In bad thoughts)
    Tattoos are nicely implemented.
The hidden islands are a amazing way to add secret treasure in the future, so please add more!
Adventure Journals being scattered around was a good way to get people to explore for once, maybe add these as a new quest type where you solve riddles, and at the end, you solve the mystery or fight a unique opponent.
Final boss had a great way to show a opponents health, the more you damaged it the more it looked drained of colour, hopefully more AI will follow in its footsteps.
Mini flags These are a cool way to signal intention, however we need to be able to change them mid voyage, so we can actually signal intention. As it stands you have to go back to the outpost and change it, at which point you could have sailed past 4 ships showing your nothing but hostile. Add a chest below decks to change this, or a flag draped over the crows nest banister, where we can change from there.

    Bad thoughts:

Needs to be more scars. There seems to be way too little from what i can see.
The final battle needs a monetary value for completing it (Say about 5-7k) and is given to all players who fight it (Doesnt drop a chest, money is just added to your amount). This is simply because there is no reason for people to complete it after they have done it once. Me and my 3 friends on a galleon sailed around for 1 hour last night, and found 1 boat that didnt want to get involved, and finally 1 boat that did. 2 boats in a entire server other than ourselves! There just isnt enough players on the server to complete that end battle, because most players have better things to do.
Final boss had a few too little attacks, which is the only flaw i saw with it. One way could be that it munches on the side of your boat allowing sword and blunderbuss use. Another could be attacking straight up from below your ship, and the only way to stop it is shooting it in the eyes.
DONT SHOW ALL YOUR CONTENT BEFORE THE UPDATE IS RELEASED!! This was not what i hoped for. I expected what they showed us was only a taste for this update, sadly i was wrong. Suspense = People hyping up the update, making more people play it on the release of the DLC. Showing all you have to offer before release will allow people to judge whether they want to play it or not, possibly losing playerbase.
No different drum skins This is kind of a shame really, dont get me wrong the one we have at the moment looks quite good, and ties in with the lore really well however there needs to be more skins based off different alliances/creatures/lore.
Tattoo's should be customizable This means you are able to choose exactly which tattoo goes where on your body, not just random assorted tattoo packs with no customisation.

Anyway amazing job Rare, heres hoping the megladon is properly implemented into the game so we can all fear the sea's once more. And hopefully i have brought some light to some current improvements needed. Thanks for reading everyone!

  • @flamelord-blaze
To cover a few of your points.

Mini flags can be changed anytime from the crows nest.

New drum skins are being added to the shop soon

  • @flamelord-blaze it is nice. I enjoy that update. I hope they'll add more NPC's who will give us a quests like a merrick. It makes community to be nicer to each others.

  • Good points.
