Powder Kegs and Cannons

No. What would be the point of cannonballs or weapons when every battle would be everybody firing themselves out and ahead of ships with the gunpowder and swimming the minimal distance to hit.

There is no strategy in making kegs this much easier to get from point A to B

Absolutely, and trip wires!

@MarkGlow I think timers would be nice so you could stick it in the belly of the ship and runaway before it explodes instead of having to shoot it.
