Theres more to life than customizations.

  • we need more than just customizations as our goal its not worth hours and hours of grind just for a new piece of clothing or a boring ship customization. there needs to be something we get that helps us with the game. other than that the game is gonna die quick, whats the point in grinding when you have nothing to show for it. no one cares about customizations we want something more tangible that's worth striving towards and don't give me that journey bull**** Tell me what yall think should there be more for your work or is the current state of the game ok.

If you don't like it so much what is your solution?

  • @ve111a something that helps with your gameplay, unlocking different weapons or tools that do different things. or add ons to your ship that help you with certain tasks just something worth grinding for.

  • @saintsfanx05 How would you balance this so new players are not at a disadvantage? How will you make this an even playing field?

The progression is a number slowly going up on a trader. Apparently thats 'horizontal' progressions though, which actually means non.

  • @ve111a honestly I don't think you can. I'm just saying no one is going to stick around for just customizations.

  • @saintsfanx05 I am. So are my friends playing. That's the reason I love this game, I make my own adventure and its skill based, not equipment base like Noob games such as cod where you stick with meta gun and you are set. I prefer the horizontal progression because thats what makes this game great.

  • @ve111a skill based is more like better internet based lol when it comes to sword fights.

  • @saintsfanx05 no it is not, My internet is inconsistent, My sword play is not. It's all about practice and positioning and knowing the combos and reading their moves. Blocking is more important then attacking when it comes to the sword.

  • the only thing that could be tolerated for access to more level are ephemeral special items that you could drop on the floor for used it any player if you die or you lost it.

  • @saintsfanx05 i'd say the best way to fix this issue would be to eliminate the RNG. Make grinding out the later levels worth something. I think its ridiculous im doing multiple maps/chapters for seafarers and castaways. Or getting killed by several waves pistol skeletons just for a foul bounty skull.

They shouldn't have gone with that design philosophy in the first place. It's destined to fail. Human beings by nature strive for better, more impressive things. It's what society is based on.

  • @scoutqo And they are adding new content and making it better, The main issue is with the millennial generation requiring instant gratification and the inability to wait patiently for people to work and make new things.

  • @saintsfanx05 All honesty dude, you should have read up on the game before playing, that way you would have known that these things you are suggesting were never going to be in the game.

I will stick around for just customisation items, makes a game simpler and more enjoyable when I only have a couple of hours to play. All they need to do is add content, a massive MASSIVE increase in customisable items, and new game mechanics to unlock these.

  • @saintsfanx05 Earning only customisations is fine for me, though more options to make us look more unique would be nice.

We already know that Hungering Deeps Cursed Sails is going to add a new ship and a new tool for us to communicate with distant ships in order to encourage cooperation between crews. I dare say we'll be seeing more new tools and weapons added as the game goes on.

Pretty sure you've got the wrong update here.

Probably! Was I half right? They have mentioned a new ship coming at some point I'm sure.

  • @howdoishoot926 Yeah the progression system sucks. I'm quite new so my pirate legend friends decided to help me out by doing their higher level quests with me. From one order of souls mission we got 8 foul, and from the gold hoarders we got mainly castaways and seafarers, I think that the higher you rank in the better rewards you should get, so I think that we should have been rewarded with marauders, captains, and those gold skulls (I forgot the name of them)

  • @saintsfanx05 Waaaay back when the game was announced in 2016, we knew that there were going to be no levels, or stats but a level playing field for all pirates.

Personally I really like this, it means I'm not limited to certain beginner areas, it means that my skill as a pirate and sailor is what counts, not a number floating above my head. It means I don't have to spend hours and hours trying to find, afford, plunder an upgrade for anything and I can wear what I like, whenever I like regardless of stats.

As more content gets added, more things to do in game, a wider world, events, regular additions, I think it will become less about what we can acquire and more about the adventures we have.

  • @martialsplash57 they're apparently fixing it a bit with the next up date. Fewer castaways and what not at higher levels. At least according to the developer video this week.

  • @katttruewalker that isnt the point. The progression doesnt do anything in terms of making someone stronger or more capable than another. The playing field is always level. Its that the RNG is totally flawed. A level 45 shouldnt be getting the same rewards from as a level 5. Especially when you consider the fact a level 5 levels up much faster than a level 45 with a bunch of castaways. The RNG needs to be changed and it appears to be. Which is good.
