I feel like the Chest Of Sorrow is way too much of a hassle to bring onboard and sell. Boosting the value and reputation you get from Chest of sorrows should be severely buffed. They're too harsh and too rare for them to be worth it.
Then again they're cursed! But i want Cursed to be worth more money and reputation.

I turned one in that was upwards of 1000, but like you say it really wasn't worth it.
One time some guy was trying to get revenge for a chest I took from Smuggler's Bay (I think he dug it up, but for some strange reason left it on the rope bridge over the entrance to the bay), and I had my Chest of Sorrow on the bow sprit, hoping it wouldn't flood my sloop. No such luck.
Said player kept coming after me, rammed my sloop while I was bailing, then killed me as I was about to change to my cutlass. Eh, the joke's on him. I mean he got my chest, and he was a solo like me, but I can't help but wonder if he threw it overboard.
@timotytimoty I have only found 1 since launch and it sold for about 1200, so I think it always be from 1200-1400 or so. What price do you think?
@aloneemperor960 For mine i got around 900-1200. Which is not enough. I think they should atleast go for 1700-2000. With more reputation aswell. I think they should boost all rep towards the end of Rep 30. It's just a HUGE grind from there on. Love the game though!
@timotytimoty I turned one in yesterday morning for around 1100 and some change. Again, bail, bail, bail. It's the third or fourth I've found, but I think only the second one I've been able to cash in.

I'm level 30 with everything and 2 in athenas. Am I the cursed one?

Yeah, I was thinking the same. They should defintely increase the value of those chests.
This weekend we have been involved with teaming up with other ships. One joker placed a Sorrow on our ship. We saw we were sinking and it dawned on me one of our crew has made a comment about someone bringing us a chest towards our ship. We found it hidden deep in the hull. We got 850 and I was thinking how we should try do more creative stuff like they did. These specialty chests should bring the most money.

@timotytimoty Good idea. I was also thinking maybe they could add a chest that makes you jump really high. They should also buff the spawn rate of the cursed chests.

Seriously though, maybe they should be worth more than Golden Chickens... But they shouldn't be worth more than Stronghold chests. So I guess inbetween those selling prices would be good.
CoS is legit my fav chest though. We're always SO happy to find him. XD It's just so amazing to play that sad shanty with like 4 people, just to hear that passionate sobbing in the background. Really, you should try it. X3
