Skull Fort Raids need to be random

  • Either make skull fort raids completely random OR a crew must be in a server for 20 minutes (or a set time) before a skull fort becomes active. Find a way to put an end to the countless server hoppers who have taken over the skull forts. It’s a little unfair when you do all the work and a 4 crew gally suddenly shows up on a dead server you’ve been in for hours every barreling straight for the skull fort you’re on. Never fails.

Otherwise, the game is a lot of fun. PC players still have a huge advantage though. But that’s a given in every cross platform game like this, it’s PC and is what it is.

Primarily, need a solution to the server hoppers who are taking forts over and over. Sloop players don’t stand a chance frankly when anywhere from 1-3 gallys show up.

  • Sloops aren't meant to have an equal footing in a direct confrontation with a galleon.

"Dead servers" are no longer a thing (and it's also sad that you feel you deserve a fort uncontested simply for holding out on a server long enough, and lack the skill to take one if contested).

Server hopping isn't particularly lucrative, and your assertion that it happens "every time" is absurd hyperbole and not even close to true.

Skull forts are already random. They occur in one of several possible locations at non-set intervals.

  • My buddy and I were sailing a sloop doing a fort when three sepreate galleons showed up to try to claim the loot for themselves. We were able to sink all three with no problem. Use being in a sloop to advantage. dodge around galleons, doing damage where you can and bored and kill the players while they are distracted to ensure they sink. Galleons usually ignore sloops if other galleons are around. thats your advantage.

It's not only about server hoppers... sometimes we wait and hide with our galleon near a fort raid if we see there a sloop or a other galleon on the raid island. If another ship shows up then we wait and watch the fight between both ships with the hope that they destroy each other and the knowledge that the supplies from the winner of this fight are gone already .

If there are only one ship on the fort raid we just wait 15 minutes until we attack them. Meanwhile this 15 minutes of waiting time the opponent will already beat waves of skelettons at the fort raid until we sink him.

That all is that what will be called strategy and tactic thinking and acting .

  • @durengo-germany Good strategy!

...but mind-numbingly boring - most people don't play games just to sit and wait.

I play a game because of the fun and to be successful in it . And you have to be successful if you wanna level up. I'am a good pvpler and do much pvp but i use my brain too instead of just the muscles.

And this is what happens if you only use your muscles and not your brain:

As we were at the port with our galleon some computer players on a sloop attacked us without reason. We did nothing, they were the ones who started the attack and we made them sink and the sloop was full of treasures ... bad luck for them ...

After that i touched my head and thought why did they attacked us ? They wasn't so smart to just turn around the ship and to sell the booty at another port.

Another day we was sailing to a fort raid ... and around the fort raid island was the water full of treasure chests and skulls. But no other ship was there because there must be a huge battle between many ships they all got sunk. Who to hell is so stupid to sail with booty on board to a fort raid instead to sell all first? I blinked in disbelief as i saw all the treasures in the water and i thougt OMG all the stuff in the water is already more worth then the raid itself. That was a good day for me and my crew... because we also got the raid booty.

  • Skull forts technically are kinda random, they aren't worth the hassle anyway, pc doesn't have an advantage (in this game), and if it does, the advantage is negligible, a sloop can sail rings around galleons, and I mean that literally and figuratively...

If I see a Skelly fort uncontested, I'll do it, but the second another ship rolls up, I'll have a little tussle, and if they don't run off, after the 2nd or third sinking, the fort treasure won't be worth the wasted time and I end up just going and doing voyages to make a tonne more money in the same or less time
