Pc people have way to much of an advantage

  • Pc players are why to op in combat I can never win a ship fight with them it’s like they have perfect aim, and switching weapons on Xbox is too slow compared to them , it lags and they always manage to get that extra shot off with the shotgun before i do. even in times where I should of won the fight ( my gun reloads before they even start reloading and I still die ? ) how is this possible , how I’m I supposed to enjoy the game when I just compleated a Fort put hard work in to somthing and I end up dying cuz a pc player has an advantage over us Xbox people before the fight even starts.

  • @two-thumbs-99 PC players have a slight advantage, but for none of the reasons you stated. Just practice a bit more, you'll get there.

  • @blackbeard-lufy thank you , but not in today with what I’ve seen , I was fighting a guy and I was able to get my first shot off on him , he got one aswell but I reloaded before him and hade the reloading effect before you could hear him doing the same and right away he got me ? Idk if this is a new bug or somthing but that should have happened

  • @two-thumbs-99 and how do you know he/she was on pc, because you lost the fight? Plenty of amazing players out there using a scuf and kontrol freeks that are crazy good with controllers. Stop profiling and assuming everyone who beats you is pc.

  • I play on xbox and i havent noticed it at all. Except 1 cheater. Most pc players will need that small advantage when dealing with me anyway

  • And they can make macros and double shot, and have far superior eye of reach sensitivity even without the mouse coming into play, and have faster load times from the ferry or mermaid. Oh but the cannons are the same, which would help if “ship combat” wasn’t really just “use broken mechanics like man cannoning and sword lunging to catch ladders and board, mermaid fallback plan” which means the small arms advantage is huge, and that players potentially spend hours to have efforts wasted by this problem, because microsoft and rare don’t want to “split the playerbase” of a game with less than 30 players per server (and usually much less) and give us the option to opt out of crossplay.

Just a slight issue, just Practice playing at a disadvantage and don’t hope for much, you’ll get there.

    Lol....

Oh and before I get the usual hate I accept all challengers to vs me bro.

  • @two-thumbs-99
Yap, we are all aware of that since day one!
They have great advantage on FPS aspects of this game, in what includes PvP.

But what does one more post complaining about that has to offer to the community?

The solution is simple... Team up with other PC players to fill that gap. That's what crossplay is about.

  • another one of these threads? yawn

  • oh god ...

  • I play using a controller. You could always do what I did........

  • @a-cranky-eskimo The salt is strong with you young Skywalker

  • I've played a lot on both XBOX ONE X and on a very high performance PC and there is no question that there are advantages on the PC, chief among them:

Performance: Much faster frame rate and better draw distances (interestingly the XB1X did much better at launch with this than since all of the patching).

Movement: Fidelity of movement is just more precise and faster and something like running is much easier toggling with SHIFT than holding down a stick.

Weapons and aiming. It's good that the game is mostly mushy with hit boxes and targeting (it's intentional) so this is mitigated some but it's just easier on the PC. Frankly weapon switching with the mouse wheel is what's amazing comparatively. It's just easier to manage and do and it feels like by a magnitude.

All of that said the trade offs are mostly worth it - it's been really fun being able to play with my friends that don't have the console and it's opened up more flexibility for playing with other members of the family. The problems as they exist lie mostly with the players - it's a collision of worlds to have aggressive PVP FPS players from the PC space occupying the same waters as consolers - the combination of control + basic culture and mentality can create issues but the game tries hard to achieve balance. I do feel like in the long run the people that are only here for another KOS deathmatch arena will move on sooner or later.

  • @blackbeard-lufy so certain are you... Always with you it cannot be done, do you see nothing that I type?

lufys line but cranky moving spawns around is one thing, crossplay options are totally different!

No, NO different! Only different controls when gaming online! You must unlearn what you have learned...

There is no try, you are aware of the reality of crossplay advantages, or you are not.

Rare, do give us the option. There is no try ing to make forced crossplay work.

  • @a-cranky-eskimo I have no idea what you just said.

  • Maybe the world was just not ready for cross play.

Someone patent that xbox keyboard & mouse.

  • @blackbeard-lufy you hit me with a skywalker but don’t recognize “there is no try” ? Your joking right? Lol

  • Not insulting anyone here, but such a small portion of the PC community on this game are elite players. The hardcore twitch aim counterstrike/pubg aim masters usually tend to stick with those types of games.

You aren't getting people who are FPS gods thinking I want to use my amazing aim to go dominate the seas.

But even if someone with incredible mouse aim hops on this game. You can still get outplayed very easily because this game is about more the gunplay. Ship maneuvering combined with timing etc. No PC player cannot be killed by a console player it is as simple as that.

  • @a-cranky-eskimo Oh, I see what you did there lol. My brain wasn't reading it right. I get it man, I'm an xbox player also. Most of my fleet mates are PC guys though, so it doesn't really hurt to much.

  • @blackbeard-lufy I usually play with a mixed crew too and still would there just really is no reason not to give the option for Xbox only servers, and I would say give pc the option but then they would want larger player pops etc so idk if rare should open that Pandora’s box when only Xbox players request the option to opt out, and this would “Split the playerbase” less if anyone is still going along with that nonsense sentiment lol.

  • @blackbeard-lufy With the inclusion of a "no compromise" crossplay style, console experience should not be compromised in any way. ANY sort of advantage, large or small, is unacceptable. There must be absolute parity.

That has got to be the biggest load of poo I've heard today. Any advantages are minimal at best in this game (unless using hacks, which is pretty rare) and completely blown out of proportion by a few select people here to forward their agenda.

  • @hot-juicy-pie exactly, forcing crossplay is like merging high school football teams with the nfl and being like “well the games just about having fun” yeah I know this isn’t Sea of Thieves MLG or anything, but it’s the same principle. Since it should be so easy for them to give players the option to disable crossplay, them not doing it is obviously intentional, which is the real problem here. If they had said ok we are working on it for the future I wouldn’t still be posting on every pc/crossplay/control scheme thread I see.

  • @dlchief58 what would that agenda be lol?? Getting the option to disable crossplay when matchmaking??? These are the same people who have been giving rare ideas for two years for them to show up with a tentacle oil spill and 3 fetch quests. Skeletons and sharks and the limited weapon and item set.

Atleast someone has an agenda to further improve this game because sometimes I wonder...

  • @dlchief58 The scale of the advantage is completely irrelevant to what I stated. ANY advantage on either side creates a compromise to the crossplay model.

What agenda would I be pushing? To want things completely even? Because that's what parity means.

  • PC players are on average more skilled than console players. That's why you loose to them. Give the PC person an xbox controller and he would still beat you. All serious nerds out there plays on computers. Consoles are for casuals.

And I repeat, that is a big load of poo. You sound like those Halo players complaining about random drops of weapons in Halo 4 and differing abilities in Reach instead of everyone having the exact same loadout as before.

Adapt and overcome as any good player would instead of whining about a inconsequential difference that likely had nothing to do with you losing, but rather is a handy scapegoat for your lack of skill or experience.

    • "Double shot macro" is detrimental to your gameplay.
    • Eye of the reach scoping is still nigh unusable
    • Shooting people from cannons or sword jumping is not a broken mechanic, since they are intentionally there, and can easily be defended against.

    Stop spreading misinformation.

  • @a-cranky-eskimo said in Pc people have way to much of an advantage:

Lol this guy is funny.. and he says we are complaining because we are bad at the game. Lolo lolo. Sounds like an old man who dosnt know what he is even talking about imo.

L**o, where in my post do I even remotely say anything close to that? You should consider explaining why you think someone is wrong you petulant child.

  • @lenny2k3 idk I’m tired of talking about this I was just kidding, Rare needs to just address the topic in a definitive way.

If you read any of my post I do explain and evidence my points...

  • @a-cranky-eskimo
"It was all a ruse, I was merely pretending to be r"

  • PC has always had an advantage, in any game. Mouse and keyboard are just more responsive, plus the fact that we can have double the frame rates of consoles. But as far as combat performance goes? Its a time invest thing. Practice more and more and you will be fine. Its not as big of deal as people make it seem.
