How do people reappear on your ship after their ship is sunk and then you've killed them?

  • Just had a guy reappear on my ship after I sank his ship and then killed him. I never get to revive that close after my ship is sunk. How is that possible?

It's very frustrating because he was able to kill me then ram my ship containing over an hour's worth of treasure into a rock or something and I lost everything.

This has to either be c**p respawn mechanics or modding once agian.

Anyhow I don't think I will be playing anymore for a while. The cheating and trolling is getting rampant. Hopefully they can stop this kind of c**p from occuring. I'm not asking for PvE servers or any of that nonsense. I'm just asking for a fixed game that possibly has an option to opt out of crossplay to avoid the modding folks.

  • If you go through the ferry door right before you sink it can/will drop you in the water where you sank.

  • @gloog I watched his ship go down while he was alive still.

Look for a merfolk in the water
If it is still there then you still have soneone to kill.

  • @rattlyfob There was none. It would have been easy to see.

  • Did you create the thread so someone could say he was hacking? It's sound like you are already convinced yourself.

I'll say it if it makes you feel better; he was hacking. I've never come across a hacker since I started playing.

  • @gloog Good to see you think so also and I'm not losing my mind.

This game needs a serious security overhaul.

  • Magically teleportation hacks and not a buggy game at all!!! Better post and video with his name so we can report him!

Pretty sure you just weren't paying attention.

  • @aa-yeti Sadly I have no video but I will put the player handle in a report to Rare so they can follow up.

The mermaid disapears if he is on your ship, i meant look for the mermaid as soon as the ship sank. It sounds like he respawned on a sinking ship and swam over to your ship as soon as possible and boarded it. Seems pretty simple/ straitforward.

The hack required just seems over the top...

  • @rattlyfob As I've stated before his ship was sunk while he was still alive. So he couldn't have respawned on it when it had disappeared.

As gloog stated then, sounds like you have your answer

  • @bloodfrenzy187
It happens, get over it. It's not a hack.
It's a good practice to always stick around a sunken ship in case anyone respawns.

  • @nebenkuh Read my replies to people then respond. I don't mind losing loot at all. I just don't like losing it in a cheap manner.

    Ahoy Matey,

We'd strongly suggest raising a report via Support with as much detail as possible so this type of incident can be fully investigated.

As mentioned in the forum rules and as a reminder to all -
    Cheats and Hacks
Discussing Cheats and Hacks including but not limited to their use and where to get them will result in a permanent ban from the Forums. If you want to report a cheat, hack or bug you have discovered, please contact Support.

    Cheating
We have seen a few reported instances of cheating, where players are compromising the game client or using programs to gain an advantage over other players. Everyone should understand the seriousness with which we treat this, and anyone identified as taking part will have action taken against them, up to and including permanent Xbox Live account bans. We have a zero tolerance approach to this.

    Investigating:
We are investigating and have detected some instances of suspicious behaviour, and will be taking direct action against anyone abusing the game in this way. The number of people we are currently investigating who show suspicious behaviour make up an extremely small portion of our player base. Work is ongoing against this as a high priority, once we are certain we have identified people cheating we will swiftly ban them.

    Thanks!

Sometimes you respawn at the location where your ship sunk, for some reason. Probably because you walked through the door of the ferry while the ship was still there. Also, ships take a while to fully disappear, so it's actually pretty common for people to respawn while their ship is already sinking or appears to be sunk.

You're not here for a discussion obviously so please refrain from doing so

  • @rattlyfob refrain from what? Replying to someone who replied to me? Good old toxic forums.

Refrain from posting a topic asking a question just to shoot down anyone who offers any opinion on the topic

  • Yeah OP, he probably hacked the main development branch of Rare's repository and added in the possiblity (for him only) to spawn on your ship indefinitely, pushed and merged it to the master branch and smacked it into a patch when no one was watching..! ezpz

  • I got killed aboard a galleon after my ship sank and I spawned at my mermaid. The only thing I think it could be was i spawned back faster than the game could supply a new ship.

  • The spawn mechanics suck. Death should cost something. Half health and reduced movement speed for X seconds, something. Anything. Dying shouldn't be free of consequense.

  • @mrgrim67686
I agree but worry that someone being trolled or just repetitively kill might be getting an extra punishment for not being as good of a player.
My idea is you have to fight the ferryman or similar to exit the ferry. The higher your rank the higher the opponents health.

  • @KattTruewalker @BLOODFRENZY187

I've seen an enemy spawn on the bow of my Galleon after sinking their ship which was literally right next to our ship.

Let's just say I "fixed" the glitch. ;)

Never thought to report it, but most likely is a bug more than it is a hack. Most likely this guy caught you off guard and that sucks you lost all that loot. Good thing there is always more grog loot!

I don't think he caught that sarcasm @Gloog
