Router Help?

    So I have problems with cyanbeard. I rasied a support ticket, and they told me this:
    -Try another antivirus / firewall
    -Change your NAT to open
    -Open up official Xbox Live ports
    -Turn off IPV6 in the router settings
    -Turn off Teredo on selected routers

    The things I did was change the Xbox to IPv4, but it didn't help. I have check the NAT, it was strict, and I don't know how to change it!
    I am on Xbox One
    Please help any experts in this! I don't know anything about routers so please explain it like your are explaining it to a really stupid person(Me)

    first and easiest thing to check, is your NAT type.

    Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button in the center of your controller.

    Scroll right in the guide to the System area.

    Select Settings.
    Select Network.
    Select Network Settings.
    Select Test NAT Type.

    idealy you want open NAT.

    @drewbob7 and there's your problem. if you google "how to change NAT to open on xbox one" you'll find tins of tutorials, both written and videos. I can't tell you exactly step by step on how to fix it, as it varies depending on your modem/router. But you'll need to access your router settings, in some cases providers don't allow that, so find out if you can, or you'll might have to contact your provider.

    @drewbob7 You may need to set up port forwarding for the Xbox Live ports:

    Port 88 (UDP)
    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    Port 80 (TCP)
    Port 500 (UDP)
    Port 3544 (UDP)
    Port 4500 (UDP)

    This will need to be done on your router. Can't really advise further on exactly how as all vendors have different ways to set it up on their devices. A google search for your device will likely come up with a guide on how to do it though.

    If you follow my esteemed colleague's advice, just don't forget to set your xbox IP address to static first, so it doesn't change for various reasons and you don't have to deal with it again later on. You'll do that on xbox in network settings. It just has to be in the same IP address range as your router is. Usualy 10.0.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx

    just pick some higher nr. for the last digits, like 99, 88 or something, so you don't have to deal with excluding it from DHCP on your router and won't have to deal with another device connected to your network stealing that IP address.
