Fortnite style jumping cooldown

  • So, in fortnite, if you jump around repeatedly, each jump has a diminishing effect, so each jump is lower and lower. However, if the player takes more time in between jumps, it's back to normal.

I think this game needs this because right now player combat feels like a jump fest with not a lot of strategy. I think this is the kind of fix that would be just what this game needs to feel better in pvp combat.

    Thoughts?

  • @notsid-probably there is already a thread on this. Oh. And I disagree. Jump is fine.

  • @xgodkevin I think it's a bit silly when players can just jump around with a blunderbus and basically be invincible.

  • @notsid-probably not invincible are you kidding? It may be silly to you but this tactic started back in quake ii in 97 when it became very popular. Nerfing this because you can't hit the target? No ty.

  • @xgodkevin Quake is a lightning fast twitch FPS. SoT is not lol. Not a valid point.

  • @notsid-probably perfectly valid. Sot is a pvp using fps mechanic. I have no issue killing jumping targets as many others as well. Not that hard with more practice.

  • @notsid-probably I think we should start every game with our ship falling from the sky.

  • @notsid-probably in another thread someone had a very good idea...let the reload interrupt while jumping...would be the best way

Honestly though, this could be hilarious. They did mention wanting us to teleport through a waterfall into the game world - perhaps saved for one of the content drops?

  • My mouse has no issue keeping a jumping target in its sites.

  • @gsrtrent try with a controller.

I have. I play on both PC and Xbox.

  • Oh, lord - yes. Or a stamina bar.

  • Look at these console cod players. Jetpacks for the past 3 games, controllers and they are impressive hitting these flying targets. It's not the mechanic at fault, it's the player. Grab a scuf controller with some kontrol freaks and out do your competition.

The game is Sea of Thieves, not Sea of Bunnies.

    l***o. funniest comment I've read in a while :D

  • I find it more amusing than anything else all these people constantly bouncing around like Tigger on speed, online multiplayer shooting games are rife with it. LOL
