There needs to be a kick button! We have a guy on our ship his trying to boost even tho he done no work and starts trash talking. We ended up dumping our loot at the edge of the map

AFK Gold leechers and legitimate griefers are a thing in this game. And the reason they do it is because the worst they can do is lock you in the brig where you still get gold for their work. This should have been implemented on Day One.

I had the exact opposite situation and that's why a vote to kick option can't work in this game. My crew had obtained some loot and stocked the ship. They all had to leave so I decided to solo our last mission. On my way to the outpost, the crew filled up and they took over the ship. They refused to turn in the loot I had obtained, even after I explained that I had been playing all day and just wanted to go to sleep. All I could've done is drop the anchor, but that would've just gotten me brigged. If there was a vote to kick option, I would've been kicked off my own ship and lost the loot I got by myself. All because a fresh group hopped on and outnumbered me. They finally turned it in like an hour later...@zaannox Was actually taking a quote from a movie, apologies.
To clarify, yes a kick button would be helpful in these situations as we know that afk players are causing an issue, so the ability to remove them would be extremely helpful.
However, what happens when it's misused? Imagine you join a galleon with three other people. You do a few voyages, collect some loot, then head to the outpost to hand in when suddenly you're kicked so that the three players can either invite their friend in to join in the spoils, or worse, they're griefers who just kick you for a laugh... Not a very nice way to have the end your time collecting loot, is it?
I remember The Division about a year or so ago when this exact situation would happen. In some cases people were actually being laughed at in streams as they would get the boss of a level down and then be kicked just before they could claim the reward - I could imagine that toxicity coming here with the same option.
I know it's the lesser of two evils, but at least with only the brig option it means that everyone gets loot, despite maybe one not putting in the effort. I'd rather have to deal with that than be the poor guy who loses absolutely everything I'd done in the past couple of hours.
As a side note, try not to be so aggressive yeah? There's really no need matey.

This is exactly what they are doing in a future update.
Just a bit salty atm he was trashing taking trying to sink our own ship just so we would put him in the brig or leave the game and he gets our loot.... on the plus side we put all the loot at the out post and scuttle the ship to make him think we lost all the loot and then the server changed and we lost it all anyway lol

@stayooriginal we sail off the map but we pretended that the loot was on the ship still to to try make him leave but he wouldn't and then the surver changed an we lost our loot at the out post

P.S. I think I’m a pretty good crewmate! As long as people listen and no one does anything too trolly (I’m fine with a bit light trolling here and there) everyone always has a good time and we usually log off within 3 hours with 20K gold + Skull Fort loot. Not to mention I’m fine with teaching newbies the ropes as long as they listen.
Also, 10/10 this post will be deleted or modded because I hurt fenrirfury’s precious little feelings. Hope the piece of trash reads it before it does!

They will add private party-ships soon so just be patientI for one am against the kick option. I dislike trolls and other unpleasant players as much as the next person. However, I don't mind putting them in the brig and selling what loot I have even if it means the person in the brig will get the gold as well. Afterwards, my friends and I just leave and go to a different server. Why? Because countless times when I enter a game I have been locked in the brig for no apparent reason. (As an aside, if I am asked nicely at the very beginning to leave so that one of their friends can enter, I comply). I then proceed to stay in the brig while the rest of them shout profanities, throw vomit at my face, play music, etc. These people are just as bad as the trolls and the other unpleasant players that I loathe. Instilling a kick option would only allow these people to continue their immature and unsportsmanlike behavior. Rare, I hope that you continue the brig system without a kick option but nevertheless, find a way to catch and punish trolls and the like. Thank you.
@marine-rookie yeah I said to the guy " look can u leave we have a mate who wants to join" but because he seen how much loot we had he wouldn't... I love the game but when you come across one of the bad apples it really puts o downer on the game. but on the plus side my mate and I managed to do duo a SF raid and cash the loot in....
I think I figured out how to not have a WALK THE PLANK button abused. What if upon removing someone from the crew you are transferred servers and lose all treasure on board. That way unless you get a group of 3 griefers together who are just joining games to kick people all treasure will be handed in. Thoughts?
Maybe add a new crew timer they have to be part of your crew for so long before they can get credit for the loot, I don’t know how many times I have had players join my sloop go look at how much treasure is down below demand to go to a port and if I deny they drop the anchor and hold it in place or jump on the wheel and never get off. Very frustrating

It won't be necessary once they implement the ability to block spots off and allow you to invite friends. At that point you can choose to leave a spot open or invite a random if you choose. Crew member got d/c'd...save his spot. You may still get a griefer or idiot player from time to time but it will be up to you when and if you open the door to unknown players.

He stated that it will cause more griefers, clearly this isn't a fact is it? As it is impossible to know what it will cause. So it is clearly his view (opinion) that, that is what will happen.
I don't know if it makes you feel important to insult other people over petty things or something? Pathetic but if it makes you feel good about yourself then I'm sorry that you are this way.
