It's 2018. Every XBOX user and most of PC users have a "shadowplay" record option.
Many of you talking about cheaters. Please send just one 'cheater encounter video' to proof your words. You can post your video at streamable.com
I am type of PC player who can board your ship, kill your team 3 times and wait until my teammates successfully sink your ship. I didn't met any cheater since march 20th.
I'm a regular xbox player, I also have never encountered any obvious hackers or people using exploits as of yet but yeah I also see lots of people complaining about it.
I just hope that if there are people out there doing things of this nature people do record/screenshot these incidents and send them to the SoT support team.

I've yet to encounter a cheater, a "griefer" (No such thing) nor an outpost camper (which is fair game). I played the last three betas and I've played every single day since launch.
you might not be playing Sea of Thieves... maybe double check
@mcdougle99, I started the greatest clan around. We play all the time. I'm pretty at least one of of would notice if we were accidentally on the wrong game. :P

Just search on youtube for cheats in sea of thieves being used, or go on google.
Why do you need proof, when even Rare are aware there is an issue?
Also anyone posting or linking to videos of hacks & cheats can get into trouble as it's against forum rules!

Thats weird that Rare is talking about 'extremely small portion' but there are 'extremely huge portion' of posts about cheaters.
There are still same site for SoT ESP and thats all. Nothing new since then.
Just show me actual video of that you spot a cheater.

also people been griefing since day one of the very first alpha test. since back then your only choice was to join random squads. people would join, drop anchor, drop loot. And back then there was no brig functionality.
I've never encountered a cheater either, that I know of - although I have come across a couple of players with suspiciously good aim...
I'm offended that cheating can happen though, in a game about shared adventure with a level playing field. Even if it was just one person doing it! And I have no clue what they get out of it either, in a game where the only rewards are about game immersion - what's the point??
I fully support Rare's zero-tolerance approach, because you can't accidentally cheat, I just hope they have a good way of catching people. And shutting down the cheating methods somehow. Everyone just needs to remember to report it direct to Rare (not via the forums) so they can deal with it.
The only suspicious things I've seen have been some really insanely good one-shot sniping, from a huge distance, on a rolling sea. In really quick succession, one guy on a galleon sniped me and my sloop crewmate. It felt genuinely beyond what is possible.
I'm not convinced it's cheating, but it's so far beyond what I could do (and I'm on PC with a mouse / keyboard) that the thought has crossed my mind.
