Griefers Geesh

  • OK I may be done with this game I guess.

Why do fully stocked Gallien boats think that it's funny to just grief solo players? I was just trying to retrieve a level 5 c**p chest yet you camp and just kill me over and over and over. Even when I respawned far away, you were waiting until I came back for one stinky little chest.

I have loved video games forever, but I now have a real job and a Family. I can't play constantly. I just like to jump on when I can and try to do one simple thing.

Again, I had cannons, up, rang the bells, waved, told you on the mic that I have absolutely nothing of value, was a Friendly, and yet you curse at me and just spawn killed me over and over. and over and said awful things about my Family,

@RARE losing patience with even trying to play this game.

You can QQ me all you want, but in the real world, most of us just can't play games 24x7 as much as we wish we could, and even if we were blessed enough that we could, we wouldn't be such dickholes about it

  • @slagg-slavin This... Is.. A... Pirate... Game...

  • Thats not griefing. And they gave you ways to get out or avoid these situations

  • @molanabram hmm I didn’t know pirates back then camped at an island or an outpost just to kill off pirates? Can you tell me a time in history when a pirate did that?

  • @slagg-slavin Turn off voice chat in settings, then expect every ship and island to be hostile towards you.

Plan ahead to be chased by getting explosive barrels and try to anticipate when you're most vulnerable so you're not a victim every time you play.

To open, i am sorry and sympathetic to your problem and dont want to seem harsh.

But, if you go solo you need to expect to avoid ships. The first time they killed you, hey you had a chest and maybe they were just going to the island. The second, third, fourth, etc times are on you if you are going back for that chest. If they are clearly hostile it becomes foolish to return to them.

    A number of outs exist,

    1. picking a new mission
    2. moving servers
    3. if they are spawn killing you on your ship scuttle it
    4. find some powder and go offensive, make them regret killing you
  • @molanabram This...is...not...what...pirates....did

  • @slagg-slavin It sucks, this isn't what this game is supposed to be about. Unfortunately you have already gotten a bunch of asinine responses from griefers/toxic trolls. Maybe Rare is happy with these types of players playing their game, because it appears many of the players are like that. They're going to lose a lot of players, especially the ones that are only trying the game out on a GamePass trial.

  • @slagg-slavin Don't give up because of one bad experioence, I love attacking ships, but only if they attack first (that's my crew's rule). Remember you can calcel a mission any time and get a new mission that leads you to a new island.

And also, join a Galleon, you'll have a full crew, which can get you to higher levels with higher rank missions they have and you'll have a great time meeting people. You can add me if you want to, I'm in the same situation, married with kids, and can only play at night time when everyone's asleep. :)

Its a pirate game. I only get to play a few hours a week too. That's not griefing fella, its all part and parcel. If I play solo I expect it to be challenging and there would be zero thrill or excitement if there wasn't a chance that I would get chased and sunk.

Stop crying about it and either join another server or see what you can get for the game trade in.

If you bought it digitally then take a break and come back to look at the new content.

  • On the Ferry of the Damned just by the door is a piece of paper. Read it and select the "Yes" answer if you truly are being griefed rather than having a scrap

  • If this happens to you again, do this... Get a look at their player names/gamertags, then hit the guide button on your controller, or alt tab to the Xbox app, then navigate to friends-recent players-block. Blocking players on Xbox live not only prevents them from msging you, it also tells matchmaking that you would like to avoid this player in the future.

  • I knew that the OP was going to incorrectly define the word "griefers" before I even clicked.

    I'm a wizard.
