@remarka6le wait so she plays on Xbox with a keyboard and mouse?
XBOX PLAYERS VS PC
@Deckhands there is a megathread for this. Can we get rid of some of these spam threads.
People please look before you post a thread and make sure there isn't a megathread that is meant to address these issues it just causes spam and makes other quality posts disappear.
Thank you
@howlingfj0rd but on controller it takes more steps to pull out a banana. How can you say you play with both and not admit that? I played on my pc and i was wrecking folks to the point it became griefing. When you are in combat having to do that extra step is noticeable. Aim is better to. Lets be honest, you just like the easy win. Cheats are another issue all together.

just adding this for those who don't understand the advantage, since mods keep locking the 100 other forum topics about this subject
Everyone keeps trying to defend the advantage that pc users keep saying they don't have. You have a distinct advantage plain and simple and here are a few reasons why.
1.precision device....a mouse is a precision instrument that works on all axis's simultaneously. as for the thumbstick, not so much...its clunky and moving just a fraction of a distance, or a medium distance, is tedious at best. definitely playable and enjoyable though it will never match a mouse's precision...never
2.keyboards and or one handed gaming keyboard, with macro functions....no matter how much you can switch the assignment buttons on a controller it will never match the speed, customization, nor macro's you can assign to your keyboard on a computer. The only way a controller shines above a keyboard for movement is in the sensitivity department. there is no sensitivity on a keyboard its either a pressed button or not. So yes its hard to walk very slow on a keyboard, but hey in combat I love to walk very slow!
3.order of operations...meaning input a user can do in succession.
here is an example: fire a weapon, select banana, eat banana, select weapon, select banana, eat banana
1.controller....squeeze trigger, hold left bumper, press up, let go of left bumper, squeeze trigger, hit y, squeeze trigger, hold left bumper, press up, let go of left bumper, squeeze trigger, hit y
2)keyboard and mouse.....hit left mouse bumper, hit a single key macro
even with out macro's the simple act of having to select a banana mid combat is tedious compared to a keyboards functionsI do not need to go on....these three thing alone combine to give the pc user a very distinct advantage. I could explain how about dpi, unlimited machine power, cheats, etc....but I don't need to these few thing can and do give each pc user extreme advantages in combat! Every pc player I met in the game before I quit told me that he felt it was unfair. They told me it was just way too easy and boring. Our running joke while playing was send the secret weapon! (pc user), cause they could demolish full crews of xbox players with out sweating.
It is cool that you find using kbm easier to use. However, this game it is not needed. You do not do any precision controls like a fps that will give you an advantage. All the weapons are so clunky and imprecise that there is no use for it.
The only advantage a keyboard has over a console player is the ability to text chat. That’s it. We aren’t talking OW, destiny, halo, cod.. we are talking a pirate game with really c****y combat controls.
We completely dominate pc player with us playing on console. It is a skill thing with your input device and how well you manage it.
@Puck269 are you kidding? I haven't played a pc game in over a year until SoT came out and i was easily locking down galleon crews. I didn't even know all the controls yet, lol.

The auto aim on the Xbox gives you a distinct advantage, especially with your sensitivity placed much higher. My room mate plays on her Xbox One with a keyboard and a mouse, she is unstoppable in PVP combat. Learn to use the auto aim to your advantage.
Your post is kind of odd since apparently keyboard and mouse on Xbox is currently not supported. So.... How does your girlfriend accomplish this?
@cinnumann Same. My brother is a PC guy, I don't have ine right now. So I'm the on the box and got him to get this for the PC. Looking forward to teaching him to sail. I think it's great with cross play and allowing people to play how they want. I think PC players will have the advantage when it comes to shooting - but no one is stopping me from playing on PC so it's all preference. Happy sailing!

There are 3rd party adapters that microsoft does not officially support but which are able to convert the input from a keyboard and mouse into simulated xbox controller inputs, much in the same way that you can use an xbox controller on PC with games that don't natively support it by using a 3rd party program to convert the controller input into simulated keyboard and mouse inputs.
@ershin666 I have no problem playing with pc players it's not that hard to beat them I would like to see m&k support for crossplay games though. I could see it being a bigger issue for casual gamers but for people who game a lot and hare half decent with the controller it's not too bad but that's just my experience.

I should have came back and edited my post. I found the XIM4 that does exactly that. It would be much better if Microsoft actually did what they have been promising for the past 3 years, by natively supporting KB&M, but I am most likely going to order one of these now.
Roommate*, let's just make that clear haha.
She accomplishes this using the Xim 4, as people have said, I already pointed this out. Highly recommend it.
@ershin666 Regardless of how you feel on this topic separate servers will never happen.
This game is meant to be a flagship (eeeh see what i did there?) for the microsoft/xbox game sharing features. Crossplay is here to stay, mark my words!
The FPS portion of this game may as well be Baby's First FPS - the controls are so basic, clunky, and the combat so slow, one-dimensional, and RNG based that it's hard for me to believe how seriously y'all are taking it.
Every kill and every death with a blunderbuss/sword or whatever feels like cheese on both platforms. I'm sure some people are "better" at it, but anybody who feels bad about getting killed or feels good about getting kills probably needs to take a step back.
This game is going to need all the playerbase it can get. So Xbox people will have to worry about PC people "accurately" aiming a blunderbuss and PC people will have to put up with an obnoxious amount of 12 year olds.
@rarestyapper460 Hahaha, are you serious. Dude as a PC player I am pretty good at the game I am level 35+ in everything and love pvp, but I get absolutely rekt by Xbox players all the matches I have been in are pretty much Xbox players. There is no difference it isn't mine craft it doesn't swing your sword faster if you click faster.
@ren2ten Let’s be real here. You press the bumper, and aim at the banana. You get the banana or whatever you want. You hold Q, you aim, you get what you want. It is the exact same, there is no extra step. You don’t win because you play with a keyboard more often than a controller. I’m not saying there isn’t an advantage (as I said before with ONLY camera movement). But if you win, it’s mostly because you’ve outplayed your opponent. The argument that there’s an extra step when using a controller simply isn’t true. Again, I suggest that people practice combat with the sword, and raise controller sensitivity. I’ve had plenty of success playing solo with a controller, and been beaten plenty of times playing with a keyboard. The only difference is camera speed and this gap can be improved by controller sensitivity adjustments. Easy.
For everyone reading this thread complaining that they should divide the community, practice combat. There are plenty of sword tricks, and the blunderbuss is pretty decent at decimating enemies. And please remember that there are some players that are simply better. It may not be that they play with certain equipment, or even that they’re hacking. Maybe they’re just better at the game. And remember that it’s not just about killing players, it’s about sinking the ship.
@howlingfj0rd you know if you hit the number 3 key it brings up the banana. Also i already posted that we can set hotkeys on the controllers. The accuracy and speed with the mouse is really the only advantage. I was smiling people with the pistol last night on my pc but really no that i found out how to hotkey I'm fine with the cross play the only issue is going to be with cheaters. If it becomes rampant that is.

oh please dont moan while ours still require attention to movement while the game auto aims for you lol just stop moaning or quit the game, the game will most likely never be on ps4.
XBox user right here: I never noticed any help with aiming...
Also aiming down a weapon and trying to look around takes FOREVER on xbox, dunno for pc though..
You being a PC user ofcourse don't care it's crossplay...
We all do though, so think that through...
Keyboard, Mouse, Settings, FPS, Shortcuts for items, all those things you beat us in, don't pretend you don't have a big advantage.
Also, don't say xbox users can buy a mouse/keyboard for their xbox to even out the odds a bit more, you go and pay those things for me then. (~ €120,-)
Not everybody has money for those things, specially not when living on your own with low incomes. What's funny is that the majority of xbox players say they don't want crossplay and the people going against it are f-ing pc users....
It's great you guys don't mind, since you're the one with the advantages, but we care deeply.
