me and my friends just went to do a skeleton fort and they kept coming back every few mins it ended up being a war lasting over 2 hrs and no one set5 foot on soil if u take down a ship and all its crew is dead they should be moved to another server not spawned a hop skip and jump away from were you took them down like lets say a skill fort at that point its just endless fighting and no progress is made three for its no fun its actualy pretty annoying
WHEN SHIPS SINK THEY SHOULD RESPAWN IN A DIFRENT SERVER
@avecrux ya because i just literally had to fend off the fort for 3 hrs and as i work 60 hrs a week and have a 2 year old son i have no time to sit and keep sinking the same ship over and over and over
@v4c-saucey ya the map size isn't that big right now
so the only way to fix this is to eather heighten the re spawn time or move them servers@tr0jenxxmcdank there are 666 topics about the same issue. Devs already know it. You could have 5 wifes, 20 kids, i don't really care about your private life. Anyway this is an adventure game which gives you the opportunity to experience various adventures at sea. Disgusted thieves are just one of them. Each of us experiences it the same way as you do, you have to cope somehow before it is changed
I agree with @v4c-Saucey. The biggest problem is that the ship you sink will respawn so close to the fort that it can be back in about 4 minutes. Spawning it atleast 15 minutes away from the fort would give the winning team a chance to at least fill up on supplies and clear the waves.
Yet if the ship that lost the battle still really wants the loot they would have to start their journey back and try to stop the other team from selling their loot.
@tr0jenxxmcdank so how about a 5 mins ship penalty or something were u cant move your ship or something of the sort
Obviously you are doing the forts wrong, as most people do. They are meant to be multi-crew events, they are seen across the whole sea the whole event time for that very reason, so everyone can gather and fight the skeletons and afterwards either share or fight over the key.
If you make it more difficulty by fighting off players that also want to attend the multi-crew event, then it is you who is making the event lasting longer than it needs to be.
Team up against the skeletons, fight once over the key afterwards. Oh and don't be an a****e by stealing the key and dropping it in the red sea, just to annoy other people. The developers made the respawning this way so you can get revenge. I do not think it is perfect, there are a lot of things that developers can do to punish loosing your ship in meaningless battles. But getting revenge is part of the game and meant to be from the very beginning.
While I think sunk ships should definitely spawn further away than just a couple islands, switching them to another server would be a bad move.
That would seriously tax the servers more than they already are. Not to mention that people who are just doing a fetch quest getting thrown into another server have no opportunity to retrieve their stolen goods.
@tr0jenxxmcdank when YOU are doing fort, THEY are doing fort.
what if you see a skull in the sky and have to sail from bottom right of the map to top left, wind in your face slowing you down, but you and your crew are investet in this voyage now.
but there is already a ship there, have all this time been wasted,? NO you fight for the right to plunder.you say; "Enemy ship keeps respawning and comming back" but what if YOU are the enemy ship, and YOU keep coming back, ?? should YOU be removed to another server?, one with no active fort!
who has "Right" to the fort ?
the one who gets there first, just because they "happen" to be closest?
thats sounds like a boat race to me.
i say FIGHT for your RIGHT to plunder!
remember there is RISK if you want the REWARD.@evocomsteel ba but a 4 hr bloodbath is excessive at that points if whoever stops sailing back first witch isn't fun at all
@fharticus give me your adress so i'll send you some good quality toilet paper and a few bars of soap as i see you suffer from lack of basic hygiene items
Let me ask you this: In your example if you were at a Fort for 2.5 hours and you were on a final wave of the fortress and someone took your ship and your crew down do you think it is fair to be respawned on another server?
I don't think that is fair. You put the time and effort in, you should get the opportunity to go back and fight for what you spent so much time doing. A server kick for death is a terrible idea and if implemented it would really cause rage quitting and people to never play this game again.
Sorry, but I would rather have the respawn changed to be else where on the map or my preferred suggestion reduced starting supplies. 0 Cannonballs, 0 Bananas, and 10 planks.
I think the current method is perfectly fine. You respawn elsewhere when you lose your ship, it takes time to return to battle if you choose to. And you have less cannon etc, than you might have had before you lost your ship. And it gives a fair attempt at regaining what you lost. It is part of the game and strategy to make such decisions. Do you stay there? Do you leave? Do you continue fighting? If people decide to keep fighting, that is part of their strategy. One can do other things if one think of it. Having to respawn to another server every time, is very unfair and unreasonable. And having less ship resources is also very annoying, as it punishment enough to sail the ship back to the destination. That is what I think.
Nah, you're doing it wrong, the trick is to board other ships and steal their supplies so they have nothing to shoot at you and you can fight forever, also better resource management and sailing helps. We had a fight of 2 hours yesterday, whole server was there, us, 3 galleons and a sloop, we let them clear the skeletons while our captain was running circles around them and the island and our guys were robbing their ships of supplies and killed them on their boats as much as we could to prevent them from shooting our ship or repair too much and after that we parked in front of fort, killed boss with cannons, stole the key and ran away to resupply. We went back to unlock the fort and of course we found them there waiting for us, nuked them with powder kegs from underwater, got treasure and proceeded to turn it in but ofc they were waiting at the outpost so we just snuck to antoher outpost and cashed in our full treasure. Best game! Loved every minute of it.
@TR0JENxxMCDANK You also have to consider other scenarios. What if we're on the island first, and after we've spent all our resources, you sail in at the end to only sink our ship and let the skeletons kill us... Then WE are supposed to get booted from the server?
@tr0jenxxmcdank omg pls not. imagine youve yor ship full of chests. and you runs directly into an pirat attack or reef etc.. you ship sinks an the chests are swimming into the sea. you never ever had the chance to pick up you stuff aigain. soooooooooooo - ragequit lvl 10000000000000000000
That's the dumbest thing I ever heard that would remove a big part of the game . Oh are ship is sinking quick hide the treasure on that near by island and we can try and come back for tactic would be removed Also you wouldn't find as much random treasure everywhere. Also what of voyages you were half finished with ?Treasure half dug up because you had to run back to your ship or riddles half solved ?.
The skelton fort is supposed to be intense and an all out war that's why the reward is high.Stop being cry babies about it
@tr0jenxxmcdank Wrong, this is the point of the game.
You can always do what my crew does, have two guys do the fort while the other two fight the other ship.
Except players don’t team up. We were at a fort, and we did not fire the first shot. The sloop did. Then the other sloop that showed up fired on us first. We were in a 3 man galleon. We sunk them both, the first sloop twice, before we literally ran out of planks and sunk. We came back, as we had the right to the fort, and were the nonagressors and the first ones there. We get there, the sloops for some reason had just abandoned the fort after sinking us, and completed wave after wave, getting to the captain wave. However, another galleon appeared, with both sloops in tow. They anchored on the other side of the island from us so we couldn’t cannon them, and then just rushed us and continuously killed us, not even doing the fort. THAT is what ticks us off. Because players DON’T work together, unless you get extremely lucky.
@tr0jenxxmcdank Good idea, but I think it would be fairer if they just spawn really far away when you take their ship down. That should be enough to mitigate repeated encounters. Also, that gives them a reason to not come in "cannons blazing."
@tr0jenxxmcdank No, I disagree. That would remove any possibility of getting revenge on a ship and prevent some awesome stories. They just need to make ships respawn far away from where they died and respawn ships with little to no cannonballs, bananas, and planks. This give the victors some breathing room but not completely remove the possibility of emergent revenge stories.
@DeadTree-Alive
I understand that, there are a lot of players out there that have fun in annoying other players, not playing the game at all. And another big group not trusting anyone and therefore eliminate everyone near the fortress first.
But if you play passive at a fort until others attack first my comment is just partly meant for you.I know that most players do not team up, but that is the whole point of the forts.
They will have to learn!
The whole machanics of the forts are so anyone can join at any time until it is completed. So whatever is happening to a lot of players, it is intended to be like that.
The players currently are choosing the least efficent way of completing the forts. You can not blame the game or devs if the players choose to ignore the big amount of variations a fort can be finished.Except I can, as they have created a game where the most interesting part is the PvP. I do not enjoy the PvE grind, I just do it because I like gold. It is frustrating, to say the least. And from what I understand, most other players feel the same way.
I completely agree with you, if the sloop had teamed up with us initially, everyone could have gone home happy. But that is not the case, and I haven’t seen it be the case yet. So people will keep complaining until others change their playstyle and realize that the fort is better if multiple crews team up, or Rare will have to change how respawning and/or forts work.
