Comparison with evidence that xbox HDR visuals are better then pc at max settings 4k with no HDR

  • @moogle-mogg yeah my nephew would agree with you. I just dont like that. Its like playing ARK at night all over again lol

  • @moogle-mogg it's a pos camera, the phone is fine.

"let me rub it in your face" what are you proving exactly? That HDR is good? Even seeing eye dogs would bark in agreement.

You can't blame people calling you out on it when you were an antagonising muppet in the first place. Honestly, I can't tell if you are either genuinely this much of an idiot or just a troll.

HDR is good, especially in SoT because of its default brightness.

  • @moogle-mogg Yea PC version doesn't come with HDR, it's notoriously bad on PC, tons of issues with manufacturer requirements and bugs with Nvidia cards etc etc.

It does make the images pop nicer, such a shame. Although I don't own a HDR monitor, so it would be lost on me regardless.

  • @biggx01 So to make it simple, as long as you get a tv that has, and it has to have a 10bit display panel, then it will show TRUE HDR to its fullest

my Samsung tv has a full 10bit display panel at 1000nits, so it displays true and full HDR

tho the best HDR tv's to get a the oled ones

and yeah LG tv are the best, i mean they own the entire HDR thing lol its their baby.

  • @moogle-mogg no thats not right atall. Just becuase it has a 10 bit panel and or 1000 nits peak brightness does not make it decent HDR.

  • visual fidelity and HDR are not the same, compare LODs compare texture quality, compare texture streaming, shadow distances, soft shadows, image quality. Sure HDR allows a greater Pixel density but arguing that HDR makes a game graphically better is like saying the same game running on the same console with an older HD tv has "worse graphics"

  • @dorsa it really does.
those things there that its s 10bit panel and can reach of a peak brightness is literally what makes a good HDR tv, well have good HDR

here this is a good read http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinion/hdr-tv-high-dynamic-television-explained-2927035

  • @moogle-mogg no, just 10 bit and peak birghtness is not what makes good HDR. Other aspects like, Local Dimming, WCG, FALD, Edge Lit or back lit.

Fact is just 10 bit and 1000 nits is just a requirement made up by a coalition as a base standard. Excellent local dimming on edge lit can look great. End of the day HDR picture quality relies on zones not bleeding into another so blacks and contrast remain clear, some Tv's can do that some can't, both with min HDR Premium tag.

  • @mcdougle99 said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:

arguing that HDR makes a game graphically better is like saying the same game running on the same console with an older HD tv has "worse graphics"

You are correct 100% and that's kinda what im saying

to make it super blunt, im comparing the xbox version with a good HDR tv and saying that despite the pc version being able to go to 4k at max settings it may aswell be played on a crt cuz i just don't ever see it looking as good as the version the can display the same thing in HDR

  • @dorsa yeah and that's what im getting at, as long you as find yourself as HDR tv that has that premium HDR tag on the box, then you know that your at least getting a fairly decent tv that has good HDR on it

  • @moogle-mogg That is a fair argument to make, I just feel the Title is a bit thread bait. maybe and edit would help?

I would love Rare to add the option to Enable HDR on pc. my PC is set up next to my 4k HDR LG tv, I would greatly appreciate it. But right now my MUST-FIX PC issue is the ADS mouse speed. The PC version is still beautiful especially maxed out at 4K and running at 60+ FPS

  • @mcdougle99 im not so good at coming up with thread titles

but i changed to, so i hope its more to the point

  • @moogle-mogg no, you said "So to make it simple, as long as you get a tv that has, and it has to have a 10bit display panel, then it will show TRUE HDR to its fullest"

This is just plain wrong and misleading. You should add that it should also be, OLED or FALD. For instance, the Samsung ks8000 is/was a really good tv, capable of displaying a good HDR image, BUT, it is simply not as good at displaying it over a OLED or FALD LCD.

  • @dorsa a HDR tv doesn't not have to be OLED to show good HDR

and i agree a OLED is 100x better then a non OLED HDR tv

  • @moogle-mogg I don't believe I said that to be good it has to be OLED infact I said "the Samsung ks8000 is/was a really good tv, capable of displaying a good HDR image".

I think i'm done here now, my facts are solid. You just keep moving the posts.

  • @moogle-mogg I have the game on Xbox One X and also on PC with a GTX 1080 and I play on a 55' HDR TV, everybody can keep the 60fps to themselves, the Xbox One X versions is just on a different level of quality, HDR makes the game look absolutely stunning as you can see the contrast, water and everything in your pics. It is not a bad looking game on PC at all, it is just dull compared to the HDR version.
