Comparison with evidence that xbox HDR visuals are better then pc at max settings 4k with no HDR

Good lord this game looks gorgeous on a high-end TV. Makes me almost feel guilty that I play on a 10 year old 22" TN film PC monitor.

@mrn-monir ok? my post isnt about fps or optimal settings for a pvp environment, is purely about which looks the best, pc with no HDR or xbox with HDR

i don't know why your brining up fps in pvp all of a sudden cuz that's not what this discussion is about

@bloodfrenzy187 its looks better because of HDR its that simple, go ask anywhere on the internet about HDR people will tell you games 100% visually look better because of it, theres nothing else to it

why is that something to get salty about?

if PC had the HDR option, then PC would win over xbox, i have said that many many times

@moogle-mogg But whats point of the post? You are just starting a flame over for nothing. HDR vs Non HDR I see not much different. You have to bring in other variables too on same settings. Stuttering, Flicker , FPS then you can compare both.

my post is very simple, look at the pictures and see that the HDR one looks better, that's it.

again im not comparing stutter fps etc, you don't seem to understand that.

let me put it this way.

i am only comparing 2 photos, out of those two photos, i am saying the photo that is HDR, looks better then the photo that isn't HDR

so they both can run up to native 4k at max settings, Xbox just has the addition of HDR

which PC does not, and that is what makes all the difference
here i have 2 screen shots

1st is using XBOX

2nd is on PC

Both using the exact same TV

Now take this with a bit of salt, as i cant recreate each image from PC and Xbox in the exact same place/conditions
as i have no idea where i took each from, but i did my best to try and atleast get it to be mostly the same

Please tell me, What are you saying? He's showing that the Xbox has HDR and pc does not. The top pic is the Xbox with HDR and the bottom pic is PC with the same settings but pc doesn't have HDR. Which makes the graphics on the pc better, Idk why there's no HDR on the pc version.

While I can see that this would bother some people, mainly neckbeards, I can honestly say I ain't that bothered at all.

• 1440p IPS G-Sync monitor @165hz

and if you think that HDR doesn't look better then the PC version that doesn't even have HDR then i welcome you to provide evidence you back up your statement

Not going to argue dude but, You clearly said the xbox will never be better than pc then you saying that it he was dumb to purchase a console and showing it better over an actual gaming pc.

Again, He's showing pics of the xbox and pc. Xbox has HDR and pc does not which is why the xbox looks better and idk why Rare didnt add HDR Support on the pc version.

im not sure if you've been reading this thread but i back up all my claims from everything iv said to match those found in that exact discussion from Digital Foundry

heres a snippit of something they said in that

@shinbabo But iv already said many times, when PC gets HDR it will flat out destroy xbox, i totally agree and i hope it does as im mainly a PC player myself

but im not so immature as to completely dismiss that xbox is better (atm purely just for HDR)

@katttruewalker That's quite a good read, thanks. Only thing I didn't like was the HDR parts. Problem with HDR is that unless you spend alot on a tv like a B7, the HDR is pretty poor, infact on a budget or even most mid range TV's HDR is better turned off. Only exception to that is the current Sony ex9005, which is a mid range tv but with good HDR.

Having said that tho, the article was probably run through something like a B7, etc. Like I said, good read tho!.

pop is more noticeable, i mean sure, not that i ever really notice it, but i agree with that

frame tearing?..meh i mean i have only ever noticed it once when i was actually looking for it, and i didn't even know it was a thing until i saw that digital foundry video and they mentioned it, so until then i was never ware of it, but from what iv seen, its very minor

I dont think so. I use xbox 1 x and pc and i prefer my pc version over xbox. What are you using for a pc monitor? To me it seems xbox is too dark even on my 4k hdr tv. Since i dont wanna tinker with my tv settings to brighten thing up a little, i just play on my gaming monitor on its game setting. Pc looks better to me just because game mode that brightens the darks up a little bit so i can see thing clearly.

@moogle-mogg all HDR is not equal. For a good HDR you would need atleast a LG C7 model. Not sure about Samsung or other brands. I have a 4k HDR television and to me xbox one x looks too dark for my preference. I definitely prefer it on my pc and gaming monitor set on game mode. However other games that use HDR on the one x look amazing. I still think SoT need to work on its HDR implementation. I remember in beta it was completely broke so i had to shut it off. Also RARE... Why did you take away graphic settings for HDR on or off and some other sliders? Id rather just shut it off right now.
