@moogle-mogg And what PC are you using an old pentium 4 with a AGP card get a grip it looks like a painting.
Comparison with evidence that xbox HDR visuals are better then pc at max settings 4k with no HDR
@no-black-crayon said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
well number one they are slight different locations and pc and Xbox has a screenshot function. load times on PC is 400x faster plus Xbox is locked to 30 fps and on PC im running at 200 fps on max with a 1070 GPU. p will post pics soon.
Are you playing it at a potato resolution? Sorry mate but I can't believe that. I just got a brand new PC with GTX 1080 ti, i7 8700k proc, 32gb of fastest available ram, I'm playing the game at 2k on a 165hz monitor with G-Sync and FPS is between 95-150 fps at mythical settings. You are telling me you have 200fps on a much weaker setup in mythical settings? 1080p or below I guess and looking at the empty sea.
Oh yea, and don't even get me started with PC m*********e. I've spent almost $3000 on this machine. I also have Xbox One X which costed me $450 and I gotta say it's not far behind my pc at all. The graphics and performance for the price are just amazing.
Im pretty sure it's up to rare to support HDR for pc. It isn't a pc limitation, it's a flaw to their design for the platform. It's an artificial advantage. There is nothing about an Xbox that makes it a more powerful system ever... also 30 fps is garbage and no visual improvement is worth that c**p fps.
@legendarypikka said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
And another thing to note Xbox 4k resolution is only upscaled it's not even real 4k whereas PCs are able to output full 4K detail in games that support it.
No, just no, why are you making up random bits of information now? your digging yourself a hole
here is my proof to prove you wrong
h ttps://youtu.be/mRnJmWmdkDI?t=2m50s
i even put it right at the exact time they state it runs at native 4k for you

yeah, true. and if they gave pc the HDR option then without a doubt it would be the best looking version.
But aslong as xbox is the only version that's going to support HDR for it, it will until then, be the best looking version.@moogle-mogg said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:

But aslong as xbox is the only version that's going to support HDR for it, it will until then, be the best looking version.I wonder why they don't have it supported for PC? I mean, the PC will do it like xbox but much better. Imagine 4k HDR at 60+ fps. Maybe it's an artificial way of making people want to buy an xbox because it's the only thing xbox x can do that pc "can't". And I hate to say can't because it's more like we aren't allowed to. Then again maybe it's something they will fix and actually support. It seems weird because they support 21:9 aspect ratios beautifully. Also, I think this is really a subjective matter because at 21:9 at 100 fps on mythical details, that looks better to me than HDR at 30 fps. The colors might be nicer but the overall visuals still go to the PC for me (keep in mind again, visuals are subjective).
@zalavaaris i dunno, the lastest win10 update enables HDR on your pc aslong as your tv /monitor can also do HDR
so its already working in PC, for some reason they just didn't enable it on the pc version....but again, i run this at 4k everything on mythic on pc, i even have a 165hz monitor and a ultrawide 21:9 aswell
despite how good and nice everything looks,
against a crystal clear shiny HDR 10bit display panel on a good tv with amazing colours, the pc version just doesn't stand a chance
unless you've actually seen a good implementation of HDR and compared it like this, then its hard for you to understand the difference
"proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max setting"
lol no.

I've seen it plenty of times, the thing for me is the immersion of the 21:9 on a 35" monitor. I can't ever go back lol. But yea, it is enabled for windows 10 I just don't understand why it isn't enabled for the pc version.
But you haven't seen it in My Ryzen 1700 with AMD Radeon 580 :) i can even see the Ocean Spray as it hits me. :) Either way Graphics are amazing in this game, the way the wave crests captures the Sun/Moon light is breathtaking. The Emerald water colors and when all heck breaks loose in a storm :)
I will plug my rig to my 4k HDR and hope to take a good screenie and post it.

"proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max setting"
lol no.
you realise that, that video didn't capture any HDR footage right and they didn't cross compare and HDR footage vs non HDR content?
i can in game capture record aswell and yes PC will win 100% of the time i do that, you don't have to be smart to understand that
here iv taken a video of me playing with HDR
the reason why im phone recording this and not in game capturing it, is to try and let you see what HDR might look like
view the footage from the outside like this at least gives you a better glimpse at HDRhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcLilQJwmr8
so i challenge you find me any footage that looks as good as that does
just notice how everything shimmers and how dark the dark parts are and stuff
@p4p3rm4t3 said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
@moogle-mogg Ya but notice how the render distance is garbage and your only getting 30 frames?
totally irrelevant
this discussion is only talking about the visuals of the game
@moogle-mogg also less ambient light is being rendered which makes it look darker than it should be.
@fubukiyo said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
@moogle-mogg Sounds like someone wants to justify their Xbox purchase. lol
uh no it doesn't, how did you even come to that weird conclusion?
It's important to understand that not having HDR on PC is not a fault of the PC. It is an issue with the game itself and how the developers have not enabled HDR for pc. The name of this thread implies that xbox is a superior system with regards to performance and power. It isn't and it is unfair to compare a more powerful system that has been artificially crippled to a less powerful console that has a feature enabled for it. It's almost like saying the graphics for Halo on Xbox are soooo much better than the Halo graphics on PS4.
@p4p3rm4t3 said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
Which looks better?
what does the video have to do with HDR? it doesn't cuz it doesn't diplay HDR
and this entire thread topic is abaout how much HDR is better against pc which doesn't have HDR
comparing raw graphics isn't whats going on here in this thread

the name of this thread, and if you read my initial thread topic VERY CLEARLY talks abaout and only talks abaout the visual difference in regards to HDR , nothing else, im not talking abaout just raw graphics or performance. i am only talking the the visuals between looking at a game that has HDR on, and a game with HDR off
and the game with HDR turned on (xbox) looks a hell of a lot better
@p4p3rm4t3 said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
You should read your clickbait thread title again.
Ok...i did.. now what?
"proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings "
let me break it down for you, you seem a bit stupid.
"proof xbox visuals..." - this what your seeing on your screen ok, this is known as visuals, the image that appears.
"are better then pc at max settings" ...well this explains itself. a pc at max settings, still doesn't look as good as the visuals from xbox, because xbox has HDR in its visuals
So please tell me how it was a click bait title when my entire title was correct and to the point
@moogle-mogg If this thread is about HDR than it should read...
HDR on Xbox looks better than HDR on PC.
In which case... there is no HDR on PC (yet). So your comparison is moot.
@p4p3rm4t3 which is just another way to say what iv already got..
and no i wont say HDR on Xbox looks better than HDR on PC. cuz as you said pc doesn't have hdr
sure i can put it as this to make it super clear
Xbox with HDR looks better than PC at max settings
but again, i pretty much already have that as my title
@p4p3rm4t3 said in proof xbox visuals are better then pc at max settings:
Some people seem to get HDR working on pc though. I haven't tried it myself yet.
No it doesn't, so i can confirm this myself
if i link up my HDR tv to my pc and switch on HDR and play the game nothing happens, HDR doesn't kick in.its not even listed as a feature for the PC version, syre it may have been a feature in the alpha and beta builds but for some reason they didn't include it in the full realse
now if you want a more reliable source to tell you pc doesn't have HDR only xbox, then i suggest you go watch the Digital Foundry comparison between the Xbox and PC version, there they specifically state that there is no HDR on PC, only Xbox has it

I understand but what I'm saying is that it isn't a comparison between pc and xbox. It's a comparison about whether or not the devs have flipped the switch to turn it on. The title of the thread makes it seem like the xbox has some sort of hardware advantage and it simply doesn't it's far underpowered compared to a PC and if the devs turned on HDR for pc the pc would again not only perform better but look better. This isn't an issue with PC it's an issue with the game. I'm surprised more pc players aren't more upset by this.
Xbox is inferior in more ways than one, you say its prettier i say you need a new subscription for your lenses i have both and trust me its shyte on Xbox intermittent lag, delay rendering things from afar gimme a break don't even go there, It's ok but so is cold coffee when your tired. Upscaledc 4k is not true 4k fact. Get over yourself thinking you nuts n bolts can do even 1%. Its a retail PC with the worse bits do some research. Jaguar cpu lol... AMD architecture even more lol. lets see how it fares against the might titan X, oh wait it cant surpars a 7870 cos thats what chip it is.
