How to change the game's language

  • Hi guys, a friend and I have been playing the game all night, we've had lots of fun despite a few minor issues.

I am not sure why however his version of the game is in Italian, we both live in the UK and rather play it in English so we can both better understand the names of items or locations. Is there a way for him to change the language?

    Cheers!

  • @madrabbit999 Ahoy there!

The game usually applies your computers own local language and region settings, make sure all these are all set correctly in your control panel and restart then all should be good!

  • @musicmee

Thanks I'll tell him to try it out at the next opportunity. :)

Pretty ridiculous that you have to change you entire PC's language, though.
Another one of a thousand reasons why Steam would've been much better.

  • @maamar Not sure if you know it but rare belongs to microsoft. Pubishing the game in steam is like ubisoft publishing games in origin. And I personally like the windows store better because it doesnt require to be opened when starting the game

  • I really hope they'll add a way to change language in-game.
Right now I'm forced to play in Italian and I don't want to, I always keep games in English.

  • @oneinsightning Sea of Thieves will lose a lot of money and players, being an exclusive for Windows Store. Steam and Gog are the best gaming platforms and beyond competition! Only Microsoft and Electronic Arts don't wanna understand it.

I'd be really curious to know how you launch the game without opening the Windows Store.
Unless you mean you can close it once the game is already launched, which I'd really not see the point of.

  • @maamar Desktop icon?

  • @arcangelo87 That works, thanks.

Although I tought I could finally trick it into adding it as a 'non-steam' game. No luck.

  • @maamar Yep, the game is pretty smart at hiding the location of your .exe or anyway for you to launch it beside the shortcut left on the windows bar

Actually did find the .exe, just can't add it as a non-steam game because I don't "have the autorization" or some BS like that. Even after fiddling with its "properties" and giving myself all the permissions I could.

It's really as though they went way out of their way to make sure you could never launch it from Steam.
