Here's some of my favorite hiding places for putting treasure. Please comment and add any you've thought of.
- Crow's nest. Possibly the best one as it takes a while to climb up there, and few people will take the time to check it. You can also stow yourself away on an enemy's crows nest, and then use the sleep/sit emote to duck down.
- Behind doors. This works more than you'd think.
- Behind stairs. The best example of this is the stair case on the bottom floor of the galleon, tucked to the left or the right.
- Behind barrels. There's alot of random little barrels on the lower decks, and you can hide small things like skulls behind them and out of line of sight.
- The balcony of the galleon's captain's quarters.
- Guard treasure with snakes. You can also do it with gunpowder barrels but it's more risky.
- And the best one for last! Stow it inside an island shrub. Alot of people forget that if you're being attacked, you can hide treasure on islands, and can come back and get it any time later. As long as you stay within the same server game instance.
