I haven’t found or run into any other enemy ships after playing for about 3 hours yesterday. Is that “lucky” or am I missing something. My crew of 2 sailed all over the place and didn’t run into any battles. The servers were full and overloaded I would’ve thought that meant the sea would’ve been full of ships. Yet nothing. Is that something to be concerned about?
Didn’t run into any enemies
@mightyirish22 If I'm not mistaken, Rare wanted the combat to be well kinda rare, :). I've played prob 20 hours so far and I've seen and fought quiet a few ships, but combat is not back to back like in some games. It's designed to be something that occurs now and then, rather than constantly.
@mightyirish22 Could have been "luck" could have been that you were just in the wrong region at the right time, or that you might not have seen the ships that were there at a far distance. The few hours I was able to play yesterday, I had ships in sight at all times.
@mightyirish22 I could be wrong so don't quote me on this (and if you do I will deny it vehemently through my solicitor :-P), but I am sure I read somewhere that each server restricts the number of ships allowed on it, so that the sea does not become over run with ships.

I played for about 12 hours yesterday. Mixed experiences. I do feel like I saw a lot less ships sailing than the beta play. There were plenty off in the distance sails we saw, usually we would be stocked up on skulls and chests when someone was getting closer. This would then tend to make us decide not to engage unnecessarily for fear of lost loot. Had 1 3 sloop battle, lasted maybe 2mind due to greenhorn captains crashing into rocks and sinking themselves, rather than by our cannons. Cheesed afew boats that were doing voyages on islands, sailby sinkings. But the big thing I noticed yesterday was the amount of neutral ships. Decent amount of times we were on cannons ready to fire back if fired on...But the other boat would sail by with people waving, dancing and yelling friendly hellos! I guess people were just to stoked to finally be sailing, didn't care for blood. May the horizon bring you untold riches fellow pirates, see you on the seas!
