This isn't ''more darker'' written, this more poorly written!
The Rare code has a bit more style to it!
If that's your argument, sure I wasn't trying to be a pirate when I wrote it.

Awesome! It's the same code on seaofthieves.com, it's just said differently. :p
[Mod edited] hate it, but they have to realize this game is built around PvP and their make believe world will not exist 'much' in this game. I am just warning them that if they see my name on their server - they should remember my code. :p

How about tbis.
Everyone play the game however they want as long as its within the terms of service and guidelines set out by rare and no illegal mods or 3rd party software is introduced?
There 1 rule to follow. Easy.
Basically what I have been preaching here the entire time - but some people around here think they are going to change the way people play cus it doesn't fall in line with what they want their experience to be like. It's laughable.
@jjblackhat
Yup i usually agree with most things you say.
If rare sticks to its vision, lets people who dont belong leave,and keeps giving us updates this game will be fun forva long time.

Ok, your code #2, is questionable to the community pirate code #4 - players are free to follow their own bearing - whilst yours comes across as, "my way or no way"...
Anyway, expand on your understanding of the game being built around pvp.

Absolutely, what will happen is some of the ones who imagined a different experience and can't stand what the game really is will jump ship, while others will adapt and find it fun in their own way and those who really knew what it would be like all along will find the game to be great and become pirate legends and whatever comes after, etc. But all this is only possible if RARE keeps the updates rolling in.

The player is free to jump off the boat and swim with the sharks if he does not want to communicate and be a 'team player'. If you don't to 'TROLL' or 'GRIEF' the boat and not work together then you be sent to the BRIG for 19m 59s (because 20m was too harsh).
'Those who betray their crew and ship through griefing or trolling shall be sent to the brig.'
@jjblackhat
Yeah some guy keeps trying to fight with me in another thread that people like me will ruin this game. I made the comment that even if 300000 people worldwide play long term and support the game rare will be fine because that's tons of money to just leave a server turned on lol.
He says we wont get 10k players and that casuals like me ruin everything.
I think hes wrong lol.

But you aren't ruining anything. You are playing a 'villain' and out for yourself and your crew, not theirs. It's not your job to make their experience fun, it's your job to make your experience fun. They all have this 'one sided' mind, and I keep stating it's laughable because I don't know what else to call it.
@jjblackhat Yeah send trolls and griefers to the brig, thats what its for but nonetheless im pointing out your phrasing comes across as "if you dont listen to me, to the brig you go" which you have to be careful with, its not trolling/griefing when they dont want to listen to you especially if theyre fine with the rest of the crew, hence the democracy of the brig and that it requires the crew to vote. So again, you talk of team players but your phrasing sucks and reads like a dictatorship.
You ignored my second question, I wanted you to expand on being built around pvp.

I stand by that phrase, if I am captaining the ship and calling out, raise the front sail, raise the back sail, turn them into the wind, drop anchor! and someone is not listening and jumping around the boat or off it and catching mermaids back.. Guess where their going as long as the majority of my crew agrees?
This is why your argument holds no water.. the game mechanic does not allow me to make the SOLE decision of someone going to the brig or not, it only gives me a vote.
I don't understand what you mean by expand on being built around PvP? Are you asking me to explain to you all the mechanics in this game that PROMOTE PvP? and the ones that don't? Can you name any that don't?
@jjblackhat Im not arguing, I was trying to get clarification on your point because it was for intents and purposes, provoking junk. Youve clearly written it in a way to get people to argue as you very clearly understand the community code because youre fully aware the crew rules, not the individual hence voting democracy.
By expand I mean, do you think this game is cod on water or I dunno, the division of the seas? Because its not cod on water, the objective isnt pvp, you dont kill the opposition to win as there isnt an enemy team. Its an adventure game with pvp elements where you can do pve/pvp like gta and steal peoples loot like the division. Its built around adventure, not purely pvp, hence why encounter rates are only every 15/20 minutes if not longer, scenarios are set up for potential teamwork and you achieve legend by by quests and chests. How you go about that is up to you. Thats what I was getting at because if it was built solely around pvp it would be called skull and bones.

I don't play First Person View games, this is my first. SO I can't really relate to COD on water. But I do believe this is Pirates on water, and pirates are those who will sink your ship, rob your ship and if we are going by the show 'black sails', will [Mod edited] you too. I am just saying... pirates aren't nice. You'll see that tho at release, soon enough :)
I will be playing SoT for the complete pirate experience - just because you don't like the way I play don't try to point me away from the game to another game? What kind of c**p is that?

Those articles are the articles that form the code that this community created. Regardless if you were part of the community at that time, you are now. Learn it, and uphold it to the best of your abilities. Doesn't mean you can't sink, loot, plunder other people. Means you shouldn't do so in a disrespectful, contemptible, toxic manner.
Wait, who are you to tell me what Pirate Code I will follow? That's laughable - you follow your code, and I'll follow mine. My code is exactly in line with the mechanics of the game. :)
lol your code is indeed inline with game mechanics. But the Pirate Code that's been set for us isn't a suggestion. It's how Rare wants us to treat the game and each other. There's nothing wrong at all with being an aggressive pirate! But you shouldn't really discount the REAL pirate code just because it doesn't jive with you. It's not really your choice to follow those rules or not, and too much deviation will indeed draw the attention of our supreme overlords at Rare... And you don't want that attention if you're violating the code that they set in place for us. Just saying... And I know it's hard to take the code into account when we've had so many problems with actually toxic players recently. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't.

My code falls in line with Rares pirate code, it is just written darker. A few have tried to state it wasn't, but failed to explain how it wasn't. You can feel free to try :)

Ahoy there all! It is getting a little heated and to ensure this doesn't devolve into personal attacks and insults I've dropped anchor on this post.
To clarify, the Pirate Code was written in collaboration with the community and as such is not a series of guidelines (though that comment never fails to make me chuckle), but actually enforceable rules for the community.
We (the @Deckhands, Global Moderators and I) moderate to this Code along with the Microsoft Services Agreement and the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. You can read about how we moderate here.
