The wiki needs YOUR help !

  • Ahoy !
As you may know ( or not), Sea of Thieves has an official wiki.
Tomorrow is the stress test, which can be really useful because the wiki is lacking informations.

If you can play, then you can help the wiki and share your knowledge of these mysterious seas!
As a wiki contributor, I want to complete the wiki, so I need the following infos:

    • Chest values:

When we are selling chests, there's a certain amount of gold given to the player. For the moment, we don't know the average value of each chest, and the most or less gold the player can receive.
If you want to help the wiki, simply write the amount of gold you obtain when you sell a specific chest.
    example: Captain: -174 -183 -201
I will regroup these values, make the average value of a chest,etc...

    • Commendations:

I think these are the most important titles we have to discover! It's a big part in the progression system of SoT.
For instance, you obtain a specific title when you sell x barnacled chests and ( at the release) you can show it to other players.
If you receive a commendation, take a screen ( the best thing) but if you didn't have the time you can write the entire title and the requirements of this commendation. (example of what it looks like)

    • The modifications on the map:

You may know there are uncharted islands ( the X on the map ) and secret places in SoT.
If you see any modification ( new stuff on islands, stuff removed...) please write them here!

I think that's it! If you want to help the wiki, you can do these simple actions!
Please write up what you managed to get under this post at the end of the stress test in a single post! It will be easier to read and to clarify the data.

Don't forget to upvote this post if you agree and want to help!
    See you, mateys!

  • Down with the wiki, people don't even try to play games anymore, they just goto a wiki and play the game like reading a walkthrough, exploration is important in this game so i am boycotting wikis

  • I will happily contribute at launch, but due to being a pioneer i dont want to accidently leak anything im not meant to. And im abit of a d*****s so probably would unintentially xD

But i look forward to scrolling through it :)

  • Seems like a great source of information. I wish I could down vote a certain post. Keep up the good work. Information is nice, it helps with new players, and parties who just haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing the game.

  • It started few hours ago! I hope you have fun playing testing!
Don't forget to help wiki please :)

  • Things will change well before launch. This will not be the same. Best to wait till launch for the full finished build to gather information its going to keep changing till then till Rare finds what they like.

  • @orydri There's currently 3 uncharted islands that can be found at: N10, L14, and S16. They all have underwater components with hidden caves on N10/S16, and a crevasse housing the skeletal remains of an ancient sea creature on L14 (identical to those found on Krakens Fall).

  • @foxdodge I talk about modifications since the closed beta ^^ They were already there in closed beta :p

  • I'm just going to post the chests my crew and some unfortunate souls "donated" to the wiki. I'll just edit my post as we get more and more chests to avoid clutter.

Hard to work out an average when the value of each chest rises as your reputation does., hence the upward trend in values for everyone

  • @f1lthy-rich these were not in order, i reordered them to show a basic average and range for the chests without tediously adding up the chests like OP has to do. Overall I got to GH rank 19 I'll look at my notes to see if there is any type of increase in values

  • Golden chalices and what they called "old relics" are a joke right now, we sold one for 15 gold during stress test. 15 gold...
Giving how rare they are, i hope they will change that and make them a lot more valuable at launch.

Also, i feel like shipwrecked versions of each chest should be more valuable than their normal counterparts to push people to explore shipwrecks (at some point, my buddies didn't want to explore them anymore because the chance to find a chest is relatively low).

Lastly, imo, chests of thousand grogs should be more valuable than marauders because they are such a hassle. To balance it out, maybe they should be a tad bit less rare.

  • @aenima123 I agree with the shipwrecks, we actually found a surprising amount of chests in the wrecks we searched (we go diving shipwrecks for the supplies not the chests) and I was thinking that maybe the chalices and relics could be sold to two different merchants? One merchant would give you gold and nothing else, and the gold hoarders would give you gold hoarders rep and no gold.
