frog man you can't bring me down brah, you want to talk about what is bothering you?
Community ruining the game...
pls just read all my teyt i write 10times that i dont want that i have a magic cananball who can kill all with 1 shoot...just read all.,..and again what are you defending the abuser who abuse the game?.....because when yes i dont want to talk with you longer about that because its not my task to explain 10times why i thinbk abusing is s**t when you dont want to get it !... i played the alpha and beta and i write my feedback and at the moment is my feedback when you dont have a full team the game isnt playabile .... and in my game description is standing that the game where you can go sail and hunt treasures OR also you can go to get crew and do it ... but the first sentec is that you can also do it solo and no i want that you show me a video where a 1 man team steel just 1 treasure from a 4man team you never will get it because when you have luck or the skill to kill all 4 you get the trasure all 4 are allready back and you cant fight and steel at the same time also not can do it sneeky because they see your name and that was the last time i write something to you because its all sayed
The thing is m8, in my own unasked opinion i do believe that forthcoming... It is not necessarily the community that is killing this game, but the minority whom is ruining the experience for the unfortunate. Don't get me wrong! I understand your annoyancE BUT I believe... That it is OUR job as the MAJORITY of the community to Shun out the trolls and to Not React in Such a way that normalize's this behavior. If you find yourself in such positions that push thine buttons then pull yourself out.
There is a reason to have the ability to scuttle the ship by "Crew Vote". To avoid this said "annoyance".
yea you write in in your own text ty
As we parley I be contacting my secret network o' pirates across the sea
that means? pirates was working together ohhhhhh....rly thats what i say all the time
@mattydove74
A felucca rule set (like in towns or moongates) for the Outposts would be pretty cool though and it even the full outpost maybe a radius around the tent from turn ins and IN the buildings so people can’t be harassed while buying things.@mattydove74 said in Community ruining the game...:
Yeah the Trammelites are ruining the game, why must carebears always try to turn PvP games to snorefest PVE?
I'm glad someone else remembers Trammel and how it destroyed Ultima Online.
PvE and PvP server splits are the worst possible thing for a game like this.
The ACTUAL solution is harder, giving people incentive NOT to mindlessly kill people, or give a way to escape being spawn camped.
This! This is one thing that The Division did do somewhat right. Going rogue increased your risk.
My first time playing was today. The first time we saw another ship, they attacked instantly (which I'm fine with, it was fun!). In response, we absolutely obliterated them. They got in a single hit. We sank their ship easily. As we approached the sinking ship, we found they had respawned there in the water. I don't think that makes a lot of sense. If I win a battle like that, shouldn't I be able to hop into their sinking ship and grab my winnings? Can you really respawn at the mermaid?
It's also kinda weird that to steal from someone's ship, you're encouraged to sit there and spawn kill them when they respawn on their ship.
@zyzicks I know what you're saying. My friend and I reached max level, got all items and got bored. So we started sinking the same 4 man ship for like 2 hours. Its fun to be a pirate and if you find yourself being "harassed" by a bunch of pirates like me, just fight back and make it fun.
Why you have to be mad, its just game.@RexLegierung37 Your post has been deleted due to inappropriate language.
Please remember to treat each other with respect.@zyzicks that sad to hear , it not everyone that is like that , i agree that the game need a feature , like a white sail that u can put for idk 1 hour ,and that u cant attack and be attacked by other , a bit like the GTA passive mode .

Because of individuals such as yourself.
The only community issues I've had are being brigged on the galleon when trying to join a 4 man crew. It's normally a party of 3 who just want to sail with themselves, and I get that, but at least tell me so I can leave. However, I did hold a 3 man crew hostage from the brig one time. They brigged me and were trolling me, then they messaged and said they had a friend they were waiting for to join. Long story short, I made them trade in a Chest of a Thousand Grogs before I'd leave. I got 400+ off that chest, then I left as promised.
@drayman86 Incorrect. I generally prefer treasure hunting to attacking others. I do like defending myself or trying to escape. I don't camp people or brig them for no reason. I've played 15 sessions or so. You people are overstating the problems and for whatever reason you refuse to remove yourself from the situation. You revel in your victimhood. Add me and I will show you how to not be timid victims.

I totally get this is a pirate game but I was just spawn killed by one two man ship for a half an hour. They sunk me and my fiancé 9 time and every time we spawn they were already pulling up beside us railing our ship with cannon balls.
I went into game chat and told them that I didn't have any loot we weren't good enough to put gun them and they told me "I don't give a [mod removed] deal with it." So we just sat an out post and sunk my own ship so they wouldn't know we were there and as I was IN THE STORE they came and killed us... so over not having any safe zones for spawning or buying things. This game has so much potential but the community is ruining the game.
Griefing WILL KILL THIS WONDERFUL GAME IF RARE DOESNT CURB IT OR GIVE PROTECTIONS AGAINST IT
@zyzicks Sadly every big online sandbox game, turns into rude online trolls, bullies and toxicity until that's all that remains sadly. They push all the sane friendly players away. This game will be no different, full of nothing but vulgar aggressiveness for no reason

Yah, I've encountered this as well, which concerns me greatly for the final product especially for solo players. Recently, I've been focusing on exploring the map, and the different islands in solo. No emphasis on chests or completing voyages. Just attempting to explore the game. To my shock, the Sea of Theives beta community has the maturity and depth equivalent to GTA Online. Shoot at first sight, and ask questions later. It's sad, because the fragile alliance aspect of this game with rival crews could be fun, but as it stands now, there's this toxic mentality prevalent that believes in destroying ships, because they can. Today, I was exploring an island on my solo ship. I saw a 4 man crew coming in from afar. They pulled up next to my anchored boat, and destroyed it. Never looked for chest, and even if they did, I didn't have one. They didn't need to explore the island. They just wanted to destroy an anchored solo player's boat.....because they could. Wish I could say that's the only time I've seen this behavior, but it's happened several times at ports as well. It's a bizarre troll esque mentality that really serves as a complete drain on the social aspect of the game. The 'paranoid try hard' type will try to defend these actions by stating other players outside of crew members can only serve as threats, and my question is always the same as a solo player....a threat to what exactly? The rate at which you unlock a purely cosmetic item like a hat?
You said it perfectly.... this game is becomming like gta online.. many of the players in the beta just go around killing constantly and do nothing else making it impossible for others to anything.....
Right now i am running into people working together and just hunting us... i have 1 galleon and 2 slopes that ignore each other and continuoualy hunted us over and over. THIS IS NOT FUN...
RARE IM BEGGING YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS
@spunkus-skunkus that is true I can only play by myself and I get spawned but oh well if they do then they do and if its hackers no game company cares if you get killed by one anyways
Hey all as I have said before this is a PVP game and if they want to kill they will just use your telescope to see if ships are near and also turn the lights off they make it really easy for us to see you. Also if the ship is near the outpost you are going to turn around and go to a new one as if go and they start to fire it is on you not them nor is it RARE or our faults. Use all your tools and you should be able to get around.
@ssjvegeta420 This game is not becoming like GTA V as this is Sea of Thieves and they are totally different games and if you don't like dying I would go on a 4 man ship as that will make it easier.
@zyzicks This problem could be evaded if they added an ability to switch the game server when your ship sinks. You'd have to wait for the MM loading again but at least you don't run into same people over and over again.
so im seeing a lot of "PvE ruins games" comments, but what games exactly. i googled "games ruined by PvE" and there was barely anything. one guy even complained that WoW was ruined because of PvE, which obviously did not go in his favor.
so i dont know where you guys are from, assuming that the game you played before was PvP focused or at least you hoped it would be PvP focused, but whatever game it was, it was not as popular as SoT.
but i digress from the orignal post.
yes it is bothersome, and no, i dont want outposts to be safe-zones because i want to be in at least one bar brawl and kill another player while drunk.
rather, i want there to be some form of punishment for killing another player in outposts and i want outposts that have such punishments to be rare and fairly distanced from one another. punishments may include simple ones such as a bounty placed upon their heads if they cannot pay a certain fine. that away, you can be a troll, but so long as you have gold. after all, you have to run out eventually, and your bounty might multiply if you have been fined a lot in the past.
there could also be outposts that would be lawless.
and no, i dont think that quiting and re-starting a game is the best solution. i think it is a solution, but a really dumb one, because i feel as if players should't have spend whatever time they have on finding a new server because they are the victim in the situation.

If you are member of this community and the community is ruining the game then logically are you not ruining the game?
Your avatar is a troll.... So it is true, we aren't laughing with you. We are laughing at you.
As brotha Ghadhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This isn’t science, but generally speaking, unless conditioned, humans suck. If you want to be attacked/preyed upon less, be friendly to other pirates any chance you get and it will likely come back around. Feel upset with children swearing at you after spawn camping you? Tell them you love them, it’s likely what they are seeking. Yes, I actually do this and it works. Additionally, it makes it humorous and easy for Xbox Live to dicipline trolls.
I’ve been playing this for a year and when random matchmaking, especially during a time with a new player pool, I’m nervous about who I team up with. That being said, I’ve had some fantastic teammates that are new players during this beta. No other game compels random people to work together like this game does. During times of a lull in content, it’s always the, “wow, everyone seems pretty stoked and on the same page”, feeling that keeps me playing. People will always be people, approach it with a holistic or Rastafarian vibe, depending on your dispositions. The community be strong fools. While there is room for discussion and disagreement on the Forums, it has to remain civil so that we can all feel welcome, no matter what our personal preference we have for gameplay. There has been suggestions for making the game more balanced and more inclusive of all players, which is admirable and always welcome.
