I'm completely hyped but i have some major problems and questions

  • I really enjoy the style and the concept of Sea of Thieves but i have some questions for what i've seen so far.

Ok at first Sea of Thiefes is a mmo and i haven't completely understood how you can levelup your character. Another question is, you get a free ship when you start your game and the ships that will be there have all the same amounts of canaons and so on depending on how many people you are. My question ist will there be a way to get or build better ships by farming gold? Because when you'r attacking somebody you could say whatever, when i lose i will get a new ship. And if there would be a way to improve your ship or build a better one you could impress other people like oh my god there is the black pearl we should get outta here. I hope you understand what i mean.

Another question is: will there be a way to build bigger ships where you can have a bigger crew and build something like a clan where you meet up and go on adventure together with your big crew.

My last question: Is/Will there be a place where people can meet and change out some informations for example saying where they last spottet the crew from the black pearl(the ship i mentioned earlier) or talk about tactics how two medium big crews could attack the big black pearl.

Thats all :) I'm sorry for my bad english

    Fliens
    wish y'all a good day :)

  • I think Rare dubbed it best when they called it a 'Shared World Adventure Game' (best to think of it like that even though it is technically an MMO). Having said that, the game will not have any direct MMO traits like character leveling or skill trees etc .I do believe they could cheat bonuses by hiding it immersively in gear (for example a jacket that allows you to carry more bullets but the jackets design literally has an ammo pouch on it).

Clan's are probably likely to be in the game but wont have like a major MMO type purpose or anything.

We don't know how ship creation/buying will work yet.

For the discuss information question, there is going to be plenty of social spaces in game, also if another crew is friendly enough then you can just ask right? XD

This game is very different to the average MMO because it doesnt really have much UI and as little an amount of numbers as it can (which I find good and refreshing). Best to think of this game for the adventure game it is over like an MMORPG.

    Really well written, kudos!

  • @draclfd Thank You!

  • Ok but where is the point in doing quests what can you do with the gold that you get by finishing a quest? :)

  • There's 3 different factions you will level up with, one being the one you have been turning chest into for gold. Your rep goes up and you get better quests. Everything you upgrade will likely be cosmetic and non PvP improvements. They want everyone to be on the same level PvP wise. No edge given to anyone besides the size of the crew you run with.

  • @fliens buy new guns, buy cosmetics, and whatever else comes with the full game. You should Google sea of thieves data mine. Spoilers if you do tho.
