"The golden age of piracy is yet still to come"

    Ahoy, very recently I started noticing how the devs are the tellig us, that "the golden age of pirates is yet still to come".

    The big question I have now is, what is the Golden Age of Piracy going to be in Sea of Thieves?

    My own thoughts:
    It might just be "in theme" refering to the official release of the game, giving access to new "pirates", with yet unkown content.
    However, it's being said in a context with the history of the world and getting to be pirate legend, so I'm wondering if they are not just refering to the release, but to a point after release and the world and character being changed to some degree.

    @dynamicpioneer they currently have a roadmap for the game until at least 2019 so it might be a way of saying the best is yet to come? they have often said that launch is just the beginning.......
    but who knows?

    I think it just means there is more to come... and not anything in particular. It just means Sea of Thieves will continue to grow after launch as an evolution, not via expansion packs.

    Rare needs to emphasize that point in interviews. Catchphrases are fine, but only saying cryptic things like that will result in misunderstandings that hurt the marketing. Make sure IGN, Eurogamer, and other major reporters clearly understand how the Sea of Thieves launch and service model compares to previous experience.

    I think it's the first big expansion pack. Here's my guess........Space Pirates! You and your crew work together to build a flying ship and take to the stars in search of out of this world booty! Lol

    I've also noticed them mention about the "golden of piracy" lately, which makes me wonder when will it be, and what is the road-map for SoT.

    I sure hope it’s evolution and expansions that keep the world intact but expand on it. I think Bungie screwed that up while The Division got it right, to a point.
