I tried posting on r/SeaOfThieves but every post got removed, not sure why. Anyways I'm trying to get the Down With the Ship commendation which says to sit in the chair of your captained galleon while it sinks. I'm watching a video of some guy doing it, why cant I? What am I doing wrong?

Two things, first and foremost check in your settings to make sure you don't have the "sitting spot interactions" setting disabled.
If it's not that and you're trying to sit down in the seat once it's already started sinking, the interact prompts all go away once you reach a certain point in the sinking process. If you get the prompt to sit in the chair BEFORE you start sinking, do that first and THEN scuttle your ship. The comm should pop for you then.
Yup thats exactly what it was. I wonder how I turned that off, must've been a fat finger lol.
