Why? You were not even playing back then. Do you also complain to and bother shoe companies for shoes that were made 20y ago but not being made anymore? Cause I can def imagine that. 😂

Seriously rare I already have absolutely no reason to even bother playing this season, and I honestly don't even have a reason to be playing Sea Of Thieves in general anymore

Nope. They're meant to be not easy to get by. Also, since you're so aware of the situation regarding doubloons, one would think you would be smart enough to save them. Cuz they're not THAT scarce as you make them sound to be.

You're most likely just spending them for whatever, and then you don't have enough when something you like shows up 😭

A player who is constantly complaining about Safer Seas restrictions for months, is no way having all the stuff. Due to that small but very important "PvP" part you keep avoiding. 😂

It makes me want to bash my head against the wall to see that they have so many sets with like 80% of them being available, but then the coolest parts being locked behind not playing the game at a specific time. For example, bone crusher was from cursed sails, an event that happened in the second month of the game being out. There was like 50k total players back then and now there is over 40 million people who have played this game. The figurehead is one of my favourite ship pieces in the game but the fact that I can't get specifically only the figurehead, sails, and hull annoys me endlessly. I can get literally every other part of the set.

It would've been nice had you quoted the streamer who actually suggested this, HitboTC. Give credit where credit's due.

@potatosord and the trials and tribulations people had to go trough with the cursed sails event to even unlock everything will never be known to modern players. Like specific event regions being IRL time gated

Also Cursed Sails was the second big update sot gut, it came out in july of 2018 and ran through till the end of august. So the game was out for at least 4 months.

Then the player numbers, over 1 million played the game on day 1 so your 50k number is severely underestimated

@europa4033 I wasn't aware that HitboTC or any other content creators had made any videos on this subject prior to my posting it. I don't watch every video every content creator makes about Sea Of Thieves XD.

If he made a video suggesting this very thing then good I hope rare watches it and takes it seriously and adds back old cosmetics like both he and I are suggesting XD

Also just to be clear I have suggested this very thing before many many months ago if not even a year ago by now, I think this is actually my 3rd or 4th time suggesting it now XD

Yeah. It's pure coincidence that you just happen to mention the EXACT cosmetics, doubloon changes, and refer to a black market (without calling it as such) hours after Hitbo's video releases 😂

Absolutely yes. But instead, let's just quote Hitbo without so much as referencing his ideas, his opinions, his conclusions, his takes on the game, his video, etc. and make it look like it all came from the OP, hoping for the amount of upvotes Hitbo got.

Epic / Fortnite does this all time so I don't see why Rare won't.

In a game where cosmetics are 100% of the progression, it does feel pretty bad to see something on another player or video/stream, think "Oh man, that is EXACTLY what I've been looking for and wanting!", but then looking it up and finding out that it's impossible for you to ever get that thing because you weren't playing the game at the correct time or because you had IRL things going on and couldn't watch the streams for drops.

I'm totally fine with locking things that should be very rare behind long grinds and making everything accessible eventually because it gives players the ability to set a goal and progress towards it, even if it takes a very long time and rewards players who stick with playing the game very long term.

Like, how many people who pre-ordered before release have the really cool Black Dog, Obsidian, Ebon, etc stuff but don't even play anymore? Meanwhile, that stuff is impossible to obtain for 99.9% of players unless you win a stream raffle/giveaway or whatever. I've seen people who have been playing like a week win giveaways for things you can only get from streamers and they're like "Yeah, this game is alright. I might keep playing it, but I dunno." while people who have played for years and desperately wanted that particular thing are just like "GGs, hope I win eventually!"

I don't really jive with the rationale of "Well, that stuff should be rare because then when you see a pirate who has it, you know they were around back then..." or similar arguments. That might sort of fly on an MMORPG where you routinely see hundreds/thousands of other players, but in SoT, you're on a server with a handful of others, and you often don't even see enemy pirates up close when PvPing, are so busy fighting you don't know what cosmetics they had, or don't see any of their ship cosmetics besides hull/sails. Like, do you know if any of the last ships you sank had the Gilded Phoenix crest or table/chair? I don't...

I personally don't care about having something that I know is exclusive and knowing other people don't/can't have it. I just care about how cool my friends and I look in our screenshots and videos. I would rather every pirate, new or old, be able to eventually get whatever cosmetics they want to perfect their pirate, even if it's a grind for 500 million gold.

@r3vanns lol sure check the steam charts if its a "me" problem my pirate has everything i need and im on a webpage of some dataminers and i dont even need the facepaint that i always asked for which was the 2018 skull facepaint cuz s18 its bringing a better one lol but keep defending them i guess ^_^

SoT was live in March 2018, Cursed Sails started July 31 2018 - that's more than the two months you claimed.

Also, there were more than 50k total players: This article states 5 million at the time of Cursed Sails.

I do agree that elements of the same set should have the same constrictions - they should have not made the other parts available IMHO, but then they would get complaints from players who would have gone for these if they "only had known".

A reskin/recolour of all the elements that would be available to all would be more fair, I guess.

What's done is done though, hopefuly they won't do this in the future. If they would now make the limited items available they lose the incentive of handing out cosmetics for doing events a certain time as people might think, I wait a few months and nag them so I can just buy them for loads of gold instead of participating.

Made up numbers don't help your argument, neither does the argument that people won't buy or play a game because they don't have access to some old cosmetics, there might be some, but those number are no way close to millions.

Plus strawman, I never said I would quit playing the game when rare would cave to these demands, I would however not take Rare seriously anymore about time limited items in this game or any other game they publish in the future.
