rare needs to do a better job listening to the players. we have been requesting the ability to buy rowboats for years. now you bring back keg rowboats which are fun.... but they are also deadly and they are the only rowboats that exist now. i do get its only a temporary issue but we are looking at possibly 3-4 months with no rowboats because most rational people wont want to sail around with a bomb strapped to their backs.

Why even attach em? Almost every small and every big island has one now lol.
And before you say diversion - if someone noticed you have one attached or is actively pursuing you, diversion strategy automatically falls apart against any even remotely decent player/crew.
And if you're rowing for ambush, it really doesn't matter much then anyways. You're pretty much dead in any case if discovered on time.
The only argument I could understand, would be frequent spawn (and bigger aggro) of skeleton ships, and a risk of sinking from them. Still, as I said before, there is no actual need now of having them attached since each big island has them, and very often small ones as well.
Unless this post is actually about even bigger lack of harpoon rowboats for faster selling in SS? Am I reaching too much? Cuz I bet there are a lot of SS players that don't like this change due to S17 being as it is. 😂

For now. Afterwards they will adjust them and mix. You players always demand the crazy things and when rare finally adds them “it’s too much” XD
You don’t need to purchase them. Rowboats are like a get out of jail guard. Easy escape, easy to sneak on players, easy to get around. And you can save them to your capt ships.

Ikr. I don't mind it as well. Good portion of my time is also chilling in SS.
And with this season, you can argue people can earn even more gold with smuggler loot pieces to sell, with nobody there to contest them. So all fair in my book when its about SS and S17.
And to be perfectly honest, lately I don't even bother picking non-smuggler loot (when playing in SS) apart from fish, cuz I still need to complete HC commendations. I just personally perceive regular loot as a waste of time, at least currently, unless I stumble upon a harpoon rowboat specifically.
Couldn't care less at the end of the day. People making big deal and drama out of nothing.

Sounds like we're running the same playbook currently lol I just nab exquisite pieces and golden greed mostly if I'm in ss while sailing from skeleton camp to camp decent cash for solo sloopin@burnbacon We asked for reaper rowies back, we didn't say we wanted ALL boats to be reaper rowies. You can make up some BS excuse about how you're superior for not needing one but it doesn't change the fact that a lot of people just like having a rowboat for the versatility and this season makes it impossible to have anything other than a bomb on your boat. Make up all the fake stuff you want, it doesn't change the ACTUAL FACTUAL FACT that this season is screwed for rowboats because all of them are bombs. One of the main purposes of rowboats is getting loot to your boat faster. If you have NO CHOICE but to carry a keg with you for every loot haul, that makes the game an inherently worse experience since that means if you want to load loot faster you need to have a bomb on your boat, in a position that if it explodes while you're on helm, you die immediately and have basically no chance to recover.
