Me and a large amount of my friends find it boring to travel long distances on the boat so we thought of the idea to add board games to sea of thieves that can be played while sailing. These games could be bought with skull coins or unlocked through quests or through another method but I feel this would be a nice update to make sailing more enjoyable.
Adding Board Games.
This was raised at SoTFest this year! Someone asked whether they'd add this and they said something along the lines of adding a 'boardgame box' that you could take anywhere - they also said that you may be able to play against / with skellies if it's introduced, as that part specifically was the question that was asked.
Hopefully someone posts a VOD of the Q&A session we had with the team soon, I can't find it anywhere for now though - I'd say keep an eye on YouTube if you want to see it, the festival / someone should upload it soon I expect.
@callum5771 They also said at the S8 SoT TV launch event that they were considering adding the old adventures back into the game after hitbo asked them about it. It's been a while since then.
Personally speaking, as a helm, this would frustrate the heck out of me. I need food cooked, supplies gathered, sails angled, a crew that pays attention to the horizon, and if they're busy playing a board game within this game, I might as well stop what I'm doing, anchor the ship, and join them. If we sink, so be it. But yes, let's play a game.
@europa4033 It's wild to me that these people need more to do WHILE ACTIVELY PLAYING A VIDEO GAME. If you don't like the game you're playing and think you need to be able to play another game while playing the game, just play that game. You can find free board game apps, websites, even discord has built in board games. If it's so important to play another game while playing this game, just do that. The average playerbase does not give a damn about having board games to play while sailing.
