Optional No Zoom Mode for Eye of Reach

  • I wanted to suggest adding an optional no zoom mode for the Eye of Reach (sniper), as a setting in the gameplay options. This feature would be extremely valuable for the TDM community, who rely on fast aiming and visibility without the zoom slowing them down.

Since quickscoping already exists in the game, adding no zoom wouldn’t break the game’s balance—it would simply give players a different aiming style without giving any real advantage over regular scoped shots. Making it optional in settings would also mean that players who prefer the classic zoom could keep it.

From a technical standpoint, this wouldn’t be difficult to implement, as it’s just a visual/functional toggle for aiming mode. But for many players, especially those focused on PvP, it would make a big difference.

    Thanks for considering this.

  • No zoom for a sniper weapon.
    So use the pistol.

  • @burnbacon Bruh what do you think is in their other weapon slot

  • They were planning on removing quickscopes not even a year ago and you think they'll let you not scope at all now?

If there's one part of the playerbase that Rare definitely doesn't care about, it's the TDM community lol. Either way this seems silly, quickscoping is very easy

  • @worst-tdmer Yeah, that’s why there are so many cheaters here and the game is totally dead with the most toxic community I’ve ever seen

  • @slechtic5114 what is blud on about, idk what that has to do with quickscoping

  • @slechtic5114 And all of these issues would be fixed by making it so that 0.0001% of the playerbase can use a sniper rifle a bit faster? Everyone is on the same playing field, only skill makes a difference. Having a weapon that is objectively better at aiming by aiming faster is not balanced and requires more skill to make up for it, so people with more skill will always pick the better option, leaving the lowered skilled players at a double disadvantage.

  • @worst-tdmer I’m talking about how Rare doesn’t care about the community.

  • @potatosord But the better players should actually be rewarded for their skill. Quick-swapping or faster aiming gives skilled players a way to use their abilities. If everything is slowed down and simplified, the game just supports no-skill playstyles and pushes away players who actually want to improve.

  • @slechtic5114 Players are rewarded for their skill by winning. You don't get rewarded for being skilled by having your game made easier. How in the hell is that even supposed to be balanced? If you are better why would they make the game easier for you? That's not how it works, and that would make the game more unbalanced.

  • @slechtic5114 They care about the community, just not the TDM community. Can't really blame them either when one of the most popular OG TDM crews introduced themselves by spawncamping Devs until they scuttled while mocking them the whole time, then posted the video to dance on their graves. And you know 100%, most TDM crews today would do the same.

  • They care about the community, just not the TDM community.

    very 1% community. But anyways,
If you wanna turn SoT into some FPS game, suggest find game that offers these sorta things. Many new pirate games out there coming.

  • @burnbacon Yes, the best players make up 1% of the community for most games. Most games also see the value in considering these players when making balance changes.

Like I said, this idea is silly to me though.

  • @worst-tdmer it's just no zoom for sniper
