I'm just glad Sea of Thieves has a future...

  • With all of the layoffs, that surprise Direct had me worried! There wasn't a ton shared, but some of what they shared was exciting. I'm just hoping they are able to do a good job following up on the promise of "Going back to things we've added in the past". Personally I hope that Hourglass gets freshened up a bit. But what does everyone else want Rare to return to after the Devil's Roar?

  • For me I would love to have a new set of Talltales in the bear future, we haven't received some in a fair while and don't get me wrong, I loved the A Pirate's Life and Monkey Island TallTales but I think we need some proper Sea of Thieves based TT.

I know one of the Adventures teased a temple that the Dark Brethren wanted to get access to and they blackmailed Briggsy into helping them, I was excited to do an Adventure or TallTale based on that but it didn't happen with Briggsy finding an alternate solution to fixing Tasha's curse.

But still, I would love to visit this temple one day in the future, goodness do I need some good ol' dungeon exploring with facing devious traps and puzzles.

I also would like to see Tall Tales and preferably 'epic action' ones like Pirates Life, Heart Of Fire and Shores Of Gold. Those really felt like adventures where they utilized all the sandbox mechanics (back then).

I also would like a map expansion with that ice biome, even the lady says she thinks we want something else. No, stop trying to bend the community their words....biomes are cool. I love games like Forbidden West, Ghost Of Tushima and Death Stranding 2 where a 30 minute mission takes me through desert, swamp, forest, canyons and snow peaks. Lore shouldn't restrict stuff in a sandbox game like SOT. Lore never kept them from doing other wild things before, so it shouldn't be now either. So if they are really going for this 'listen to the community' thing they announced...this should be in the top 5 list since they basically acknowledged in the video this is a top requested feature.

  • Athena's Fortune need to do something. There is a so-called war between Reapers and Athena's Fortune, although unless you play Hourglass, you would never know it. Reaper's have been sailing around on the Burning Blade, building skeleton camps, doing rituals, spraying graffiti around the place, resurrecting the order of bone and blade, they'll be refitting skeleton camps soon and Athena's Fortune have...well...nothing. They're handing out bonuses at some point, but it's pointless when you realise Reapers are handing out bonuses straight after.

It's great that the developers aren't giving up on the game, but I wish they would give attention to Athena's Fortune. Unfortunately, after watching the community direct, I don't think that will be happening any time soon, so I guess Sea of Reapers until whenever.

  • SoT always had a future. That future is a mystery, full of promises that tend to not stick or fall short.
And like the ocean, ever changing.

Plus if they do want to do a new area (and I can understand why adding a new biome will be difficult as you need to make it interesting enough for people to come back to, plus all the technical bits such as making the area perform well and not put pressure on the servers) then they can use the Sea of the Damned which they've done before.

And since its based on memories, we can visit locations based on the memories of Pirates who'd come before. For instance Pendragon for example since his games are canon so I can see us visiting areas based on The Staff of Karnath, Entombed and Dragon Skulle. Maybe if we're lucky, we can even visit the memories of the Pirate King and even Flameheart.

  • Considering the only updates to captaincy since its addition consisted of adding ships to guilds, and removal of captain voyages, which was half the reason to have a captain ship imo, it needs something more than just another trinket.
