My suggestion list:
more players/ships allowed on each server with slightly smaller maps giving more pvp and a less empty feeling in the game
Change the wilds biome to a nice winter biome it would be fire.
unique faction something completely new and realistic
Dolphins that affect the currents adding another skill gap for players to learn greatly affecting sloop speed and having some effect on bigger ships, bigger krakens that are harder to beat
a next generation version like what rust console did, this would release all the limits of the game if you don’t belive me look at the change from old gen rust console to new gen.

Many people already complain about pvp, good luck convincing them that more interaction is better.
Why do people keep asking for winter biomes in the Caribbean? There is technically winter in the Caribbean, but the temperature doesn’t change much.
Something about dolphins?
There can be optional servers for either normal or small maps and more boats or just more boats. This game thrives on pvp as a player who has only played the game for about 200 hours I’m already bored pvp would make the game for exiting instead of hourglass which is too sweaty. A winter Biome is just sick there is already mermaids and more I’m sure winter can be added. Dolphins are a great marine animal and they could act as a speed boost for boats
More players, smaller maps-- not possible to do.
Having snow/ice doesn't fit the gameplay lore.
They've just added Hunter's Call as a new faction. Is yours grade 5 distinction yet?
We don't need dolphins to help people chase/run. That boils down to experience.
I don't think we need larger krakens. This game has a large learning curve already.
This is Sea of Thieves. Not Rust. I could also ask for a million things that World of Warcraft implemented that this game could add, but then I see the title of the game and realize, this isn't that.
I don't see Rare spending time, money, and resources keeping optional servers up. It's why the Arena server was taken down.
You seem to want more pvp by asking for more players with a smaller server to give more pvp, yet you say hourglass is too sweaty. Which is it?How to make sea of thieves the players favorite game
Depends on the Players. Some just wanna play a Pirate game, Some just wanna pvp on ships, others just want a game to play.
(which..this games offers already)more players/ships allowed on each server with slightly smaller maps giving more pvp and a less empty feeling in the game
Were already up to what is it? 6 ships? Max. How is smaller maps gonna work? Its a large ocean...doesnt take long to find players if you know where most players flock too. You say its empty, yet I will find players complaining of being sunk "Every second, even as they login".
Change the wilds biome to a nice winter biome it would be fire.
Explain the appeal of Winter. I dont wanna have my shirtless pirate running in the snow. Nor do I wanna wear a coat.
unique faction something completely new and realistic
Example?
Dolphins that affect the currents
???
adding another skill gap for players to learn
Players already seem to struggle with the easy and common 'skills' we currently have. Adding more would be weird.
bigger krakens that are harder to beat
She use to be hard...but smaller crews didnt like it.
a next generation version like what rust console did, this would release all the limits of the game
How sure are you? Maybe it wont change a thing? You never know, it could make it worse.
if you don’t belive me look at the change from old gen rust console to new gen.
I did, same game, same problems it still has today. Playerbase is still problem and pretty worse than SoT playerbase.
@europa4033 I want a perfect balance between casual gameplay and PvP. Regular game mode feels empty with PvP only at world events which are usually far. And hour glass is a bunch of sweaty kids grinding. Krakens are VERY easy to kill they are overhyped and underwhealming when you kill them
@burnbacon neither did rust consoles players like it. Alright smaller maps isn’t needed but the map is far too big for only 6 ships so increase player capacity, winter isn’t needed but would be great something like falcores vid explains it, I usually play solo or duo and we clear the kraken without any damage.
@burnbacon I think sot could learn alot from rust and similar survival games, I know it's not those games but imagine if you could build a little dock and a little fort on these uninhabited rocks with some skelly manned cannon turrets and build a little empire that you could get back to and stash your treasure around I think it would be awesome if sea of thieves was more like rust to be honest

How would that work when your server merges you into a different server and someone has already built something in the same spot?
This game is never going to support in-world structure building, and if it did it would be temporary meaning it disappears whenever you change servers or log out.
@d3adst1ck it could be distance based how i guess it works with ships or the servers could be more permenant I don't know, I'm just saying if this game was more like rust or ark without the progression I could see that being pretty awesome, I'm not saying it's possible just saying I would play that game
@europa4033 new gen can easily be added taking only a few months and that would allow replacement of biome, more players on each server, and everything I said would be feasible. Don’t see why krakens can’t be bigger and harder in solo/duo player and we’re novice and easily kill the kraken
@europa4033 all the facts are the same bud they all involve hunting, fishing, or looting. I’m don’t work for rare so I’m not going to spend the time thinking of a unique faction I never said it would be easy but it would help the game alot
@bumpersum967441 how do I upvote? This idea is sick but would only be able to last when in a select server
@donaldpump46186 it sadly seems alot of you are like the rust discord not as toxic but strongly against people like me ideas yet in the end everything I asked for and said should happen is or will in the near future

I'm going to assume you don't have all the information, all the metrics/numbers, nor do we know what they know behind the scenes and/or deal with. Saying something could "easily" be done is certainly easy to say when we don't know the how's and why's of the game's coding/processes, etc. I'm also pretty sure they can't just download Unreal Engine 6, apply it to the game and all our prayers are answered after we download the patch. Without knowing the intricate details Rare developers know, something tells me it's far more complicated than that, something they're probably not interested or aren't able to do, for reasons perhaps due to time, money, feasibility, etc. Just a short while ago, many thought hourglass broke because a boar was added to the game, and Drew had to reassure the players this wasn't the case. Just goes to show you that what might seem obvious at first, isn't the whole picture that many assume.
The kraken used to be much more difficult than it currently is, and used to spawn more often. Players made their opinions known, and changes were made to where/how it is now. My opinions on the kraken are that it's fine the way it is. If it's too easy for you, congrats. You sound like an amazing player. Perhaps that's not the case for other players who also play this game?

Except a "perfect balance between casual gameplay and pvp" is impossible in a PvPvE game, where players decide for themselves what they want to do. You could sail around and alliance with everyone on your server and all agree to work together. I've had fun times where we decided to stack loot (3 athena chests, 2 chests of fortune, and a lot of everything else), and challenge every ship on the server in order to reward the crew who could sink us. Hourglass isn't always a bunch of sweaty kids grinding. There are players who join that are trying to gain experience and skill. It's a mix of everything, so you never know what you're going to get.
If your server feels empty, perhaps you could use that time to work on reputation, achievements, voyages, etc. but just know, it can go from peaceful to chaotic at a moment's notice without warning.

Some people don’t like feedback on their ideas which isn’t entirely accepting. I mean, you literally proposed an idea about dolphins impacting ship speed. Do you think it’s possible that perhaps not every idea proposed on the forums is a good one?
Also, you responded to the comment about hunters call (a new faction, btw) stating that it was basically like all of the other factions, while it absolutely is not.
@europa4033 look at RUST CONSOLE… they did the transfer in about 5-6 months and old gen rust console was the worst looking and worst performance game I have ever played, on the other hand sea of thieves is already optimized and suprisingly not laggy for old gen so I only imagine it would take 2-4 months if they really dedicated time and not base that much time in old gen. Look up rust old gen vs new gen. you’ll see
@europa4033 you can basically complete all the important fun stuff within a month of the game, yes PvP can’t be perfect but players have already asked for more player ships and yes there is lag but that’s why new gen should be a thing. Sadly a game I like
Is dying right now so new gen should become one of their top priorities. Maps shouldn’t be smaller I see why now from my experience me and my friend get clapped on in hour glass but easily kill people in regular game.@donaldpump46186 Sea of Thieves is not a PvP game.
It is a Shared World Adventure Game.
The number of ships vs the size of the map is intentional.
if there were more ships or the map was smaller, it would lead to too much forced PvP when some people prefer the PvE/Adventure side.
EDIT: This is also not Rust (thankfully) or any other game. It is Sea of Thieves.

What might be fun to me, might not be fun to you, so I have no idea what you're referring to specifically when you say the "fun" stuff can be completed in a month.
Unless the development/art dept. announce a new type of ship, we're going to have to settle with the 3/4 we currently have, and in the years I've played this game, I don't have an issue with that at all.
It's unfortuneate whatever game you like is dying right now. I hope you don't mean this game, because I can show you posts of players posting the same thing years ago lol. They said the same thing about World of Warcraft MANY times as well, I'm used to hearing it, and it makes me roll my eyes lol. Once again, you don't have the exact player numbers, so it's bold of you to assume this. Sea of Thieves is almost 10yrs old. If you feel their priorities are misplaced, perhaps you should apply and steer the course for the employees and developer teams correctly?
Don't let a few experiences in High Seas sway your opinion about the playerbase there. We've had incredible epic fights on High Seas with amazing players who are now friends. We've fought against and defeated a 3-ship alliance stacking FotD, and after an amazing battle, we went on to partake in Glitterbeard afterwards. There are incredible moments against sweaty players in open seas. You never know who's on that ship parked at that island, or what experiences they have.

@europa4033 yes I ment this game, people have been saying it and yes it’s not dead yet but the player count is slowly decreasing very few veterans play this game anymore and it’s just new people who get bored within months, I have said once or twice that there could be server options, I don’t see why not. New gen would bring players in and a spread out community wouldn’t be noticeable with many players. When new gen is out the devs can just start shoving updates down our throat in a good way, good or bad experimentation is good and can be reversed or kept.
@look-behind-you wow bro what a suprise same thing happened in rust console discord you can’t argue because I’m right or mainly right so you result to reporting me using the at symbol
@donaldpump46186 It is a simple case of reading and abiding by the rules you agreed to when you joined the Forum.
Perhaps the issue isn't the Rules if it has happened more than once to you?

Never played Rust, never will. I am however, quite fond of watching Camomo on Youtube, who catches and bans quite a lot of cheaters over there. So, I have no experience with what you're referring to when it comes to any other game. Also, I'm not a technical-savvy person, but I'd imagine a different game would be on a completely different engine, and as such, has different bells and whistles the developer has to work with. I guess what I'm saying is, I can't just take the engine out of my truck, install it in my car, and think I've solved all the issues my car has. Like I said, since you seemingly know exactly what the game needs, and what the developers here need to concentrate on, I'm pretty sure they'd be lucky to hire you so you could guide them at their shortcomings?

May I ask what you mean by 'server options'?
@europa4033 you should give it a try or ark, they do have their flaws but there's something about those base building games you don't want to put them down, because if you do your base is destroyed, I think base building is what sea of thieves is lacking, the ability to inhabit these rocks and islands, it's pretty amazing what people have built on some of those pvp/pve ark servers

Oh I've seen incredible creations in Minecraft as well, some of which made my jaw drop. I don't doubt it. Personally, I played World of Warcraft for 13yrs, got burned out a bit, was browsing on youtube one day when the algorithm suggested I watch a video by a particular streamer playing SoT. I fell in love with the game as I was watching it, bought it, logged on, and haven't logged off yet. The only thing I watch pertaining to Rust, is Camomo on youtube. I'm not particularly interested in base-building, as I like to get in on the action or plan shananigans with my friends. But yes, there are some amazing talented people that have built extraordinary creations in games. It's a talent I wish I had!

That's the thing though, base building/survival games are a dime a dozen; but there is only one SOT. It's unique and zany, it's a game that stands apart from other games and personally I prefer it that way.
@europa4033 as said it wasn’t just simple porting for rust console, tbh they have a smaller crew, ALOT harder game to optimize and a new engine to switch to along with anti cheat, flying vehicles, graphic overhaul and much more. and tbh a lot of people dislike d11 because they are really lazy sometimes. So I’m sure that rare can make something happen for a new gen version. Don’t know why everyone is so against what I have to say [mod edit].

@europa4033 when it asks for high seas, safe seas, and sand box of adventure, if a player clicks on high seas they are greeted with the option saying casual:contains less ships/players per server, or survival: contains more ships/players per server. From my experience I would think that majority would probably pick survival mode. Most players already are stacked on gold and it would be better to be contested on medium-high tier loot runs for the adrenaline.
