SOT official discord: adventure LFC channel and HG lfc channel

  • Every single LFC post on the official SOT discord is either for hourglass, or adventure. I find it inconvenient to scroll through either one when looking for the other, and it would be nice to have one channel dedicated to people looking for hourglass crews, and the other channel for general adventure crews.

  • I think it's fine the way it is. If there was someone posting a LFC every couple seconds then I would agree with having separate channels but it's quite easy to follow and if you don't wanna bother with it, then make your own LFC-post and wait

  • I will give the same response to this here as we give on Discord itself:

HG isn't a separate mode, it's part of the open world and we have no intention to separate it out at this time.

Hmm, I think I will have to beg to differ on this.

Hourglass provides a vastly different experience than any other content except for the Siren Song voyage where it is strictly a Player-versus-Player experience with a small amount of Environmental randomness, while other types of adventure are mostly a Player-versus-Environment with a small amount of enemy player randomness.

Honestly it is different enough to warrant a separate LFG channel due to the types of players that it requires.

I have used the discord LFG for a while, and if you're looking for players to do adventures with BUT you don't want to find literal new players to play together, the current LFG channel does feel unwelcoming as most of them are being filled with request for high-level pvpers with 200+ allegiance level and/or 2000-plus hours.

  • @itz-majman I have no problem filtering through it, as I myself create posts and do a lot of hourglass and open world. I am talking on the side of more user friendly, and i know lots of people don't participate in hourglass, and it can be a pain for them when majority of posts are hourglass related. more QOL

  • @mopwieldinghedgehog I feel like you feel that there are 2 separate channels, it is admitting hourglass is somehow "not open world." Honestly, it replaced arena for PVP oriented players, and although occurs in open world, targets a vastly different playerbase. I believe separating the channels is just quality of life for players and members of the server, and does not signify saying hourglass isn't an open world experience.

  • And yet at this time we have no plans on creating a separate channel for HG.

With that I will be dropping anchor here.
