I'd like to see the chest of fortune in a quest like the old athena was, a quest that takes a hour or so and ends with the Chest of fortune, this would give players that arent as good with the PVP a chance to get them but also gives PVP players a reason to tuck on player ships more again like they used to.

Though I agree Chest of Fortune is supposed to be the snazzy big chest everyone should be chasing after, specially because the Reaper chests aren't doing it, half the people chasing a reaper chest are chasing a boat to sink instead like a Reaper flag or mark but because you got something of value you got from PvE there's a chance you can't PvP back.
Anyway I believe the chest of fortune should still be rare as a world event so it retains it's value.@astralenigma By making a good obtaniable item that is highly sought after because it is only in one place is how the PvE of SOT mixes very well with the PvP. I like how it is in 1 place at a time that switches rather than it being voyage obtainable.
I think they introduced the CoF to steer activity (doing it and fighting for its spoils) to a specific world event. Adding them to a voyage negates that.

You just said the reply I was going to give. CoF was made to replace the chest of legends on the most sought item to get people fighting for it, if you put it on a voyage it defeats that purpose.
TLDR: Chest of fortune is a chest designed to be fought over and inspire tuck plays to be stolen, if anyone can spawn one it completely loses their value and then you might just steal a barnacle chest.

No, We need to keep it Rare so they are contested. If something becomes common it stops contested events.
