INTRO
The Skull of Siren Song event single-handedly has the most potential for a wildly exciting time of any of the events in my opinion. Though hype for it has died down almost completely, I have proposals on how to bring it back to life.
ISSUES
Once upon a time, it was a very good time. When it was new and there was lots of competition, it was amazing. Now that nearly everyone has unlocked their Briggsy masks and completed their commendations; the majority of players seem to have lost interest. It seems half of the player base wanted the rewards, and the other half just wanted to fight the players who were after the rewards.
Also, everyone is sick of hearing Briggy's repetitive spiel. Turn it off.. Turn it off.... TURN IT OFF
REASON FOR ISSUES
There is no incentive to do it anymore. I find that most people are attracted to the allure of:
(in order)
- Cosmetics
- Commendations
- Faction Reputation
- Gold (weakest incentive for experienced pirates)
Once you've done Siren Song about 50 times, there's almost no reason to do it again other than for a little bit of gold. Many people would still gladly do it if it's contested, but nobody seems to be doing it.
Also, everyone is so sick of hearing Briggsy's voice now that they don't even want to accept the quest. These are very easy fixes, though.
SOLUTIONS
One: Turn off Briggsy's Speech
Two: Mute Briggsy
Three: Silence Briggsy
Four: Add more cosmetics and commendations for
completing Siren Song. A Siren Song Curse for selling 200 skulls would be awesome.
Five: Add the ability to dive to servers with an active Siren Song quest.
Six: Add the option to auto-enter into Siren Song quests. This could start automatically upon login, and/or as soon as someone else on the server accepts the quest.
Seven: Make Briggsy shut up
Eight: Increase the gold payout by 5-10k for every ship that is actively doing Siren Song on your server.
Nine: Add +25 Doubloons to the reward for selling the skull.
