We can open doors, even the door to the captains quarters on a galleon is always open, what if we had a prompt to also close doors too, in tall tales even on galleons!
(One of rare's agents likes this idea so this might be probable)
@xenomorphben570 Ahoy!
This idea breaks manoeuvrability for boarders in hg.
What is someone who has been shut down to do?
So no.
@xenomorphben570 proceeds to lock you into the room you’re in and toxically trolls you the entire session, never letting you out and forcing you into a confined space.
Yeah, absolutely wouldn’t be abused…
@xenomorphben570 I didn’t say same crew. Same toxicity applies, it’s no better than spawn camping and forcing a player into a situation they do not want to be in with no way out other than leaving the game.
There have been numerous logical gameplay reasons mentioned why this really shouldn't be implemented, such as being abusable to allow or prevent players on the same crew or other crews from getting into or out of a room (inhibiting player agency is a BIG no-no to the devs in this game where it's all about the freedom to do and go where you want).
There hasn't been a single explanation what this ability would ADD to the gameplay or world at large to justify the amount of work the devs would have to do to enable it. Not even in the orignal post where the idea was offered.
I'm genuinely curious if you could provide any reason this would be a useful ability to have other than "wouldn't it be cool"...?
Who would use this? Who would this update be for?
@xenomorphben570 Again, what if you are moving all of your Athena stack into the tavern because you may not be on a captains ship, and then wham, door shut. Yes nearly everyone and their dog has a captain ship, but what about the crews who want to get to the tavern of legends or simply have a grog inside? there is room for a few issues here
