I think I speak for most when I say that people don't really like the direction the Emporium is going. Recolors, it taking visible priority over the coin shops, and now Curses. The separated outfits were a step in a right direction but it seems Rare has went back to costumes.
Curses always were grounded in lore, and were unlocked in lore-related things. The stone one could be argued whether it fits or not (one guy got turned into stone in the books), but how do you explain THIS???

We haven't gotten new curses since Season 8, and suddenly we got 3 this season. And we'll probably get even more random curses that don't fit the game's world and just look "sort of cool" cuz Rare probably has 5 finished already and waiting to be released.
Players don't want random flashy bits under their flashy costumes, we want cool, grounded in the game's world curses under actual clothing.
