The Idea of more rough and rugged sea ....

I can imagine this working if all crews were limited to the Devils' Roar.

  • I like the idea, but it has some issues and needs some refinement.

(Ship-Types) I imagine for this “Cutthroat Seas” big ships would be a necessity, Galleon and Brigantine Crews exclusively, now if we lived in a perfect world and didn’t already have tons of stability issues this would be a perfect place to make the Man o’ War a playable ship type exclusively to this mode along-side the galleon.

Why can't solos and duos enjoy this mode with other pirates? You've got to respect their journey. There's no reason to force them to find a crew.

(Voyages) Similar to how Safer Seas voyages should act differently in this mode, providing harder hit skellies, and ghost ships would need to be must, along side frequent spawns of enemies, and better loot drops.

Harder PvE doesn't warrant more rewards. PvE is the way to generate the stakes/ante for the PvP, a.k.a. the game. Gold is kinda worthless already, giving people more gold just because harder enemies spawn in larger numbers doesn't effect the risk side of the risk/reward paradigm that is the game loop. How are you increasing the risk to parallel the increase in reward?

(Gold) Also similar to Safer Seas, Gold would need to be tweaked specifically for this mode, I imagine to keep things balanced a 1.5x multiplier to all loot sold would be balanced.

So what? What am I spending that gold on? This is why I don't understand the complain about Safer Seas generating less gold. I still have nothing to spend it on.

(Incentivize PvP) PvP is fun if you’re one the players that regularly plunder from unsuspecting victims, I feel as if this mode would NEED to be geared towards the PvP play style, there’s a lot that could be done to ensure this, but if this mode would ever come into existence I feel as the only way for it to work is with PvP.

How? Skull of Siren Songs is kind of a bust... Pirates really only flock to XYZ of Fortune and Fort of the Damned, I don't see how increasing gold, which anyone who enjoys PvP knows is kind of useless at this point, will incentivize PvP.

(Core-Mechanics) so since this is supposed to be the ultimate hardcore mode for sea of thieves some things would need to change, Mermaid Spawns I feel should be disabled, if you fall of your ship Whoops!? Gotta go back and get your crew mate. Did your ship sink? Have fun sailing a larger distance to the location you were sunk. And the last and most controversial of these ideas would be to have no starting supplies.

Yea sure, but you need to start with something... Yea you could buy a storage crate and loot the outpost, but I don't feel like a handful of cannonballs and planks and nanners really make anything easier. Buy storage crate, go to sea fort, fín.

(Environmental Changes) So in this category I’m gonna make a list of some ways to make the environment around the player more challenging in this mode.
    •Harsher Storms (Deal More Damage)

    Sure...

    •Kraken Spawns happen Anytime

That one's nice, those are obnoxious.

•Starless Nights (Realistic Nights where the only light you can see is your ships and outposts light)

    Huh?

My main idea of this would to have players be on edge and fear the sea, I hope you all enjoyed reading this idea, some of these ideas I’ve heard from other players and content creators be passed around, If you wanna add anything to these ideas feel free to I’m always open to converse about them, Thanks for reading. -Myst8457

The most offensive part is sadly further separating the player base. Safer Seas already removed some pirates from the seas. But to create a hard-core made not bifurcates the PvEvP community into HS and DS, meaning each mode has less players in general. For stamps that are struggling to get players in the first place, this is a death sentence.

The idea of a hardcore mode has been floated before, and it's a good idea, but the community generally wants more than just "this guy takes more bullets to kill." Different attacks from bosses, better AI, and new skeleton types usually accompany the ask for just more of the harder skeletons (shadow, gold, etc...).

I see no reason why this can't be incorporated into High Seas. Hardcore voyages that make things harder for you without removing you from the general population. But just because a voyage spawns gold skeletons instead of vanilla skeletons doesn't really make it harder. We all relish the idea of hard mode, but incorporating it into adventure is a prerequisite and balancing it is tricky...

  • This suggestion was made before and I’ll repeat my same point.
Your hope is that the PvP inclined players would all go to the “Cutthroat Seas” to allow the Safer Seas players (likely solo sloops) to come to High Seas and make gold without the threat of PvP from the bigger ships. Sorry, but no.

This was my impression as well, a ploy to make High Seas safer.
