Ever since the Skull of Siren Song update, the new ship spawn mechanics have been broken and make it absolutely ridiculous if you are trying to do any kind of activity that requires you to come back to the same spot. Regardless of if you are on the quest to get the siren skull or not, the ships you sink will spawn withing a square of you if you sunk. Ex: Me and my mate were stacking FOTD on a sloop. We made it through two stacks and were on the way to finish a third when a Galleon appeared. They were decent players but still didn't take too long to sink. They then proceeded to respawn 9 more times at either Snake Island or Crook's Hollow, putting them withing a square away from us. We proceeded to fight them for the next 2 hours, with us sinking once and sinking them about 10 times all together until we finally managed to finish our third stack, grab the most important loot and sail away after we sank them one more time. Now that was only one instance of that happening. I've seen it happen to our enemies and to us when we get sunk on many different occasions. Having the same ship come back round after round with fresh supplies is frustrating and just feels terrible and exhausting. Please fix the spawn mechanics.

@jolly-kitt yea iv noticed this we sunk a crew the other night they spawned at the island right near where they sunk which feels odd cuz the other week when my crew got sunk we spawned on the other end of the map so no clue what is going on

This adds difficulty to the new event, it is a feature.
Stop pretending like this isn't affecting regular adventure, the OP clearly stated, like many others have, that they were doing FotD. Mayhaps try reading more than the title and you'd see that.

Yea, it´s a feature and it´s a dumb one.
Makeing all ships unsinkable would increase the difficutlty even more but won´t make the game better. At least the spawn distance should increase if you loose multiple times in a row.

Not pretending anything that is the new feature and it is intended. If you don't like it Safer Seas will be here soon.

You are pretending, it's regular adventure - an activity unrelated to your voyage.
Remind me it's 'intended' when Rare eventually fix it. So You keep trolling these threads with inane response and snarky "Safer Seas is coming remarks". I get it, you don't like people critising Papa Rare. That's very clear.

So what, it's all in adventure. That is meaningless.
In any case I will let you have the last word since you have become so toxic.
To be fair, Rare has, on multiple occasions, fixed regression bugs where the spawn distance was too close, according to Rare.
Two things can be true at the same time:
-
Spawning in the vicinity of the active elements of a siren song voyage is not a bug and is a feature.
-
A bug exists where the spawn logic is being applied to ships that have not opted into the voyage.
I can absolutely envision a world where the latter gets patched while retaining the intent of the former. They don't have to be mutually exclusive and safer seas is not the correct answer here.
-
Sounds not broken as people are still spawning normally just “closer”
And players upset because regardless of siren active. Ships are spawning close to one another.
Frankly this is good for the game/voyage. Keeps pvp on going until one decides after being sunk to turn away. It seems it always the one being attacked who complains and never the one who just respawned.
I was guessing it would be in the recent patch as a change, maybe it's more complicated and needs more time.
I doubt they leave it long term.
Close spawns are cool for the new voyage but outside of that I think a lot of the overall feedback will lean towards putting some distance after a sink.
I doubt it's intentional because it's very counter productive for all the progress they have made in risk/reward in the last year.

Obviously it isn't the one who just respawned complaining. They are no longer beeing punished for bad plays, nor is the victor rewarded for successfully sinking them.
Sinking shouldnt be a minor inconvinece. Not in siren song or regular adventure. If people cant win siren song without scuttling then maybe they should either start parttaking it earlier or plan ahead better.

What happens if they’ve accepted the voyage but decided it was too far away so didn’t bother going for the skull/chest but that’s causing them to respawn close by?

If this was "so toxic" for you, then im happy to let you know that Safer seas are coming next month.

I am not on the dev team. As I said, I envision a world where those scenarios are looked at and patched in a way that retains the intent of the voyage. I didn't call out specific fixes for a reason. Today's "news" video dropped and it addressed several items they want to address. So it is clearly an iterative process. As data comes in and certain metas become prevalent, they will decide what works and what doesn't.
