Friendly Hourglass Suggestion

  • It would be cool if hourglass got an option to have a free for all kind of battle consisting of four or more ships.

    ... The reason behind this stems from the need for more action packed fights and less predictability. I've been recently playing hourglass and it has been mentally exhausting as I often come across having to spin in circles and mainly cannon spam for wins and leveling up. I think it would be a great way to contribute to the magic behind adventure mode.

  • Well. If you want a free for all, don’t do Hourglass and just attack any ship you see.

    You are basically asking for 4 ships to be actively diving and join each other on the same server. But this wouldn’t happen because it have to create a new server just to allow this.

    Which by the end, only 1 winner. Once they win they either A) be alone in a server or B) forced to server merge

    You can only get so much variations in 1v1 and once the meta has settled, fights tend to play out the same. If we can learn anything from Arena it's that having several ships involved leads to more fun, epicness and overall unpredactibility as to how the fight will play out.

    They've long struggled to maintain 6 ships and we have often been at 5 (which doesn't bother me) but I don't see how it's even possible to have multiple ship battles while maintaining performance and a design that keeps it in adventure.

    and queues are rough for a lot of people just finding 1 ship, trying to maintain steady activity with multiple will be tough.

  • Great idea but I can't see that happening due to server issues as @WolfManbush described. The only way they could implement something like this is by having Hg take place in a separate server like Arena but we all know how that turned out...

  • We already had that. It was called arena.
    Damn, I miss it.
