I just have a simple request. I would like to join 5 Guilds instead of 3. I'm really happy with how they work but would like more slots.

5 Guild Slots
Yeah I didn’t think I’d have this issue, but I’ve had to turn down people who wanted to invite me to their guild. Didn’t realize just how many non-intersecting groups of crewmates I have.
Also would like to see the limit raised a little from 24. Maybe 30? Though might not be necessary if I could have more guilds in total 😂
@abjectarity Yeah, same. I have some friend groups who play SoT but not really together so now all my slots are filled lol
Limiting how many people can be in a guild makes sense; its the only way to bottleneck or control the speed of guild rewards being unlocked. I get it.
Limiting how many guilds you can JOIN makes zero sense. All that does is force players to cherry pick or play favorites with friend groups.
Because you can only actually sail on one ship at a time, its not like being a part of 10 guilds means all 10 of those guilds will be benefitting from your membership at any given time.
Either make it so you can only join 1 guild or as many as you like. Anything else makes zero sense.
@frixsik You can sail for multiple trading companies, why not Guilds? I want to include all my friends, but I have friends who don't like each other, and I have a Guild for my family, etc. I don't really see any reason not to add more slots.

Having such freedom within the guild system makes the guild system pointless. What is the reason to have a guild then? With the ability to join as many guilds as you want, it makes it no different from having no guild system.
Regardless, it's a waste of time to explain this. All players with at least a bit of gamer-sense understand, why it is bad, others don't. Simple as that.
If you don't want to bother finding the right guild to commit to then you shouldn't be using guilds.
I genuinely think we'd be better off with a limit of one guild for the sake of a sense of loyalty or pride. That's just my opinion though. I just fear your suggestion would make the wrong approach to guilds much worse.

I honestly wish the opposite. I wish we were only allowed one.

It would work the same way as it does now except we would be given an extra 2 guild slots.
