Add "Allow Guild Mates To Join Me" Option In-Game

    Pretty straightforward request, I think. Basically, hoping for Rare to add an option in the My Crew settings to allow Guild Mates to join you whilst you are sailing.

    I know this is an option before setting sail, but I'm talking about being able to change it afterwards.

    It's not something that's going to affect everyone, especially if your Guild is Friends-Only, they can join on you with the Allow Friends To Join Me option. I'm in a couple of Twitch community guilds though, and mod for one of them, and it's come up a few times where someone in chat has asked for a fellow guild member to join quickly but they can't unless they are added as a friend first.

    tl:dr - It's an option before setting sail, would be nice to be able to change it after setting sail.

    Not sure I understand, if you are sailing a guild ship then guildies can join you provided the crew is not full.

    Thats only if you choose to allow guild members to join before you set sail. You can choose closed crew and guild members cant join, from there you can only toggle open crew and closed crew, not guild only.

    Yeah, it's been explained by GoldsMen, but the scenario is that if a crew sets sail without selecting the option, there is no way to change it.

    If you start via the Adventure screen, you get the three options before setting sail - Open Crew, Guild & Friends Crew, or Closed Crew. Once you set sail, you can change it to Open Crew or allow Friends to join, but you do not have the option to allow Guild Mates to join (again, unless they are also your Friends).

    Closed Crew is also forced if you join by the Monkey Island screen, which a lot of players do to cut out the tavern animation and get a better spawn. In that case, only your Friends can join you, not the rest of the Guild.

    And, no, Open Crew doesn't open up the join option for Guild Mates, I've tested that.

    @goldsmen Yes, I see what you guys are saying now, odd that is missing. I guess I thought it was automatic if it is a guild ship.

    I've been thinking about this and I think the option for Closed Group, and possibly plain Open Group, should not apply to guild ships. Closed group would exclude guild members, which is not really right for guild and Open group would have strangers taking slots that guilds could use.

    Guild ships should always allow a guild member to join if there is room.

    Problem solved.

    Yeah, that is really how the option works when you set it before setting sail, so it would make sense if the "allow friends to join" option also included Guild mates when you are sailing for a Guild. If folks just want it to be them and their close friends, they can leave it closed and invite them.

    Basically, yes, I'm really just advocating for the same settings available after you set sail that are there before you set sail.
