Switch Weapons/Secondary Interact should have the option to separate the two actions. (Controller)

  • With how the interact system works in this game, often times when I am running by a cannon or looking near a crate while trying to switch weapons, it will consume my input and not prioritize the switch weapons action. This becomes a big issue during combat on a ship. It is worse when I press the input near a crate because it opens up the crate UI and totally takes me out of the fight. I would look into how PUBG allows custom keybinding options on console (controller).

    This has been mentioned before in this forum but it seems to not have gained any attention or start any conversation.

  • If you know this is an issue, why do you have your crates spread all over the deck that would cause you to interact with them by mistake?

  • @tesiccl That really doesn't address the issue.
    But yes the crates are around the edges of the boat.
    And I can't move the cannons out of the way.

    I can have my crates out of the way, but it doesn't mean every ship that I board will do the same.

  • I share what my partner says. They mention that you order your boxes, but what happens when you board a ship and cannot control the order or where your rival puts the boxes. PC players can easily press the number and pull out the desired weapon in one go, but we console players must go through the weapon change and remember which one we had before putting them away. I think the best solution would be to implement interacting with boxes with the same key that the radial menu uses, only for it to be examined with a short touch and for the radial menu to hold down.
