  • Dual Pistols. You can shoot one at a time or both together, but it will take a lot of time to reload it and consume twice the amount of ammo.

  • Fix the current weapons first.

  • There are plenty of weapon ideas we could go for, but rare has stated in the past they want to get a grasp on the current hitreg issues before adding more weapons.

Since people can skip the reload animation that would not be good.

  • No new weapons. Just weird skins for them

Swordfish sword for example lol. Quit trying to turn it into call of doody.

  • Being able to use your OTHER hand to carry 2 trinkets. Not a weapon but sheesh!

  • The boarding axe makes a regular appearance.

Primary attack slower than sword, more damage.
Secondary attack removes boards or creates holes over time at a slower rate than required to repair.
Holdind attack like doing a sword lunge while in the water does a single attack that attaches the pirat to the side of a passing ship but no hole is made. You can then wait for the ship to turn or be lose its mast etc to allow boarding.

BUT my feeling is that balancing it would be too hard. Imagine double gunning a sloop crew then swapping out to an axe and hacking a hole in the bottom of the boat.

  • @miserenz

If you want to sink someone without using cannons you can bring firebombs or take over the ship and run it into things.

    Boarding axe will kill naval.

  • @bluethunder1177 I got it! A hammer! Me hands are in agony from years of punching planks against the hull!

  • @pithyrumble

    Yup, that be my point.

  • I want to see more weapons akin to the Ashen Winds Skull and the Trident of Dark Tides. Things that are exhaustible and come with a risk/reward of mobility vs power.

  • Crabs as an item. Drop em at your enemy's feet to pinch at their toes, causing slowdown for a second or two.

  • @selgewick @Brentjitsu how would one use dual weapons or carry 2 seperate things with a hook for a hand? You'd be dropping one every few seconds lol

  • @pugwash9586 using yer logic ask ye self, how can one reload gun with hook, how can One jump with peg, how can one see fully (full screen) with eyepatch, etc. Etc.

  • My wish for combat would be a total overhaul...

have new weapons each with special characteristics, axes, normal swords, two-handed swords, knives.

long-range weapons would be those present in the game with the addition of a bow perhaps.

Only the use of a melee weapon and a long-range weapon would be allowed, thus putting an end to the double gun and making close combat the main one( I think boarding with mandatory hand-to-hand combat would be much more fun and immersive in battle and not the first option as it currently is.)

I didn't really think about how each weapon would work to have different types of melee weapons, what effects each weapon could have.

My other controversial opinion would be to do away with sword dash jumping, this would make boarding even more difficult on the seas, thus making naval combat the main combat.

  • A knife. Heavy attack throws it. It swings faster than sword and is able to block.

Double swords. It functions exactly like the sword but wind up on power attack is slower and damage is 25% greater. It has a 4 hit combo instead of 3 and your character says "tuna" in chat during the lunge.
