Revive Blackwake

  • For those of you whiny PvP hungry players.

There is already a game meant for you with more ships, more weapons, ranks etc.

Instead of potentially ruining the sea of Thieves scenic, adventure & story experience by making suggestions to turn it into another TDM.

Why not revive Blackwake? And urge developers there with your enthusiasm for PvP-only and with your money? Gift your friends the game to up the player count, don't be selfish now.

That very game community died because of the kill hungry PvP & toxicity community by the way, it is the same theme of "good" players repeatedly noobstomping. They got bored and eventually killed the game too. The players even harass the devs when they update the game🤣.

It was a fun game👍🏻, i miss it.

  • ''Your suggested game looks bad and you should feel bad''

  • Take the "thieves" out of Sea of Thieves? Riiiight....

Having PIRATES on the seas should be dangerous and fill you with dread and fear.

Players pleading for that element to be removed need to find another game.

  • Talking about whiny PvP players makes this post sound like a whiny PvE request. The game is scenic, has adventure and a story and they are great the first few times you see them. I do still admire the scenery but the game wouldn't last very long on just them alone, the PvP, the piracy part keeps the game feeling alive. PvP is a core part of Sea of Thieves. Some players do go abit overboard with PvP but that's there choice. They're not toxic for sinking ships.

  • As an experienced player with a lot of time invested I'll tell you a secret.

When you are new pirate to the Sea of Thieves you'll spend your play sessions thinking "I hope I don't get attacked"

When you are an experienced pirate you'll spend your play sessions "I hope I DO get attacked"

It makes the game ALOT more exciting and turns it into a truly unique and special experience unlike anything else

    No, it doesn't.
I don't get the people who say PVP adds variety, because almost every PVP encounter win or lose plays out the same.

The meta means PVP is boring.

  • @scheneighnay I think what they talk about is the core game experience.

So let's take FOTD for example.

I don't know how about you, but first times trying to do it, getting attacked was scary and frustrating.

Now I only propose to do it, as I hope we will get attacked. The first sight of another ship feels like a 'bingo' moment.

Not that PVP never happened before, but this is all this game has to offer. Once you have done all the PVE content, did enough pvp, this full combo is the only thing that makes it interesting.

That being said, I think its time for developers to cool off making ''tik toks'' ''hOw aBoUt wE lOaD tHe ShiP, sAiL foR foRt oF ForTuNe...'' you saw that cringy video right? Sorry, also soundtrack choice (welcome to my playground) is terrible. Poor music taste or an attempt to be 'trending' ? They really should let their music department to do it themselves, if that was their choice, shame on them :D

And focus to bring more ground breaking content to this game.

Look at the reapers, most popular faction also the newest one. They did not exist before and all those 'year one' players probably started to get bored, then BAM reapers and the whole game became like new again for a lot of people. The whole emissary system etc.

I doubt guilds will be anything special, so if they have nothing planned that is being kept secret, we are approaching one year mark with no new exciting content for adventure'(maybe I'm wrong?) Fingers crossed devs have a good plan for next 5 years.

  • I have said it many times and its no less true. The moment you join a server in sea of thieves, you are consenting to be attacked at any time by anyone regardless if you realize it or not. Its a core part of the game and not wrong to do. As well this game is not an adventure story game, it is a pvpve game driven by loot, it just has story elements as side content to it.

I'm still saying that doesn't add up to me.
You do fotd, you expect to be attacked, you know how and when it'll happen because there's only so many ways to go about it. That's not exciting, it's no different than one more boss wave.

  • @scheneighnay So what exactly do you enjoy in this PVEVP sandbox?

The meta means PVP is boring.

Entirely depends on how a person plays

I've always played in an organic style pve/pvp and I only fight ships that attack me or put pressure on me in random scenarios so I fight in all sorts of random scenarios against all types of different crews.

If people only play one specific way they are largely going to have similar outcomes, pve and pvp.

Like if a pvper largely just attacks inexperienced crews

or if inexperienced or passive players keep doing world events

    then things lack variety

  • @scheneighnay There are so much that you don't know when you see a ship on the horizon :
are they any good ? Do they have cursed balls ? Should we push to finish the fort before they arrive ? Are they gonna try to make a keg play ? Maybe we should make a keg play ! Oh there is another boat, are they allied ? etc etc.

There is an amazing range of possible outcomes, ranging from a very vanilla 1v1 fight to a 5 ships delicious mayhem.

While, on the other hand, the FotD will play out exactly the same every single time and will never be challenging on its own.

  • @grog-minto not even worth replying to people who make such outrageous and blatantly false claims to try support their argument

"eVeRy PVP enCoUntEr iS thE saMe"

Lol what an incredibly ignorant statement

    Co-op and the ship mechanics.

  • @scheneighnay try Deep Rock Galactic if you want a purely PvE co-op experience.

    It's actually incredible

Not really, there's very short list of tools available, that get shortened further when the meta makes most things not viable.

  • @scheneighnay look, you do you and enjoy the game you paid for, but co op and ship mechanics has a lot less variables than pvp as an example, although it falls under same category, its just coop and ship mechanics ;).

Also what exactly do you consider coop worth content pve wise? Role playing or something?

  • @zig-zag-ltu said in Revive Blackwake:

I brought up ship mechanics because whenever someone says "go to another game" it's always a game where your ship is a ship-shaped brick you can control entirely with wasd on the helm and that isn't impacted by waves or wind at all.
Sea of Thieves has no competition in that regard.

Helping other crews on world events, fleets especially, as well as tall tales and voyages is a lot more interesting than spending 10 minutes shooting boarders off at eachother until one of us takes out the masts or hits the other's anchor.

Only PVP I enjoy are the multi-boat chaos fights where I find myself boarding one ship to use their cannons on another ship, or trying to steal stuff or do keg plays.
The core PVP loop of anchors and blunders gets old fast.

  • @scheneighnay We all do. But if you approach another ship, doing a world event like the fleets, I bet most of the time you do spend 10 minutes shooting boarders off the ladder. Or if you live long enough you become the villain yourself ^^.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy nice encounters as much as anyone and forming alliances, defending. But this is basically what I meant PVEVP, did not mean to oversimplify. Multi ship battles is the best.. Unless you are a sloop and need to fight two brigs, then any mistake means Davy Jones locker :D

Nah. It's more like am I going to get attacked lol. That vanilla sloop over there is acting shady.

No? You show up and they either accept help, run, or they start firing and you leave them be.

  • @scheneighnay Once they start firing it's game on, why would you spend the next 30mins trying to run away from something you have started yourself? Obviously if you are a solo sloop and run away from a galleon or brig thats understandable, but if you are on a brig and sloop starts to fire at you, its free money.

    They never follow.

  • @scheneighnay ^^ oh ok, have you ever considered sinking them once they finished the event and collecting the loot tho ?
