I haven't played this game in a long long time. Thinking about playing this game again with a few of my friends. Do you guys have a list of pros and cons?
Worth coming back to in 2023?
@urasquidkid if you enjoyed the PvP aspect and getting to fight crews yes. If you’re a PvE treasure only bot, then no.

As a treasure bot there are new things to find.
PvP is exactly the same...still.
@UrASquidKid Lists of Pros/Cons will be entirely personal and as such you will get largely unhelpful replies as various people with different gripes or highlights 'decide' for you. If you start with a list of what you enjoyed vs what you didn't, it would help narrow it down a bit.
That being said, if you already own the game (as stated in one of the replies above), the single best way to determine if Sea of Thieves is 'right' for YOU is to try it and see!
At the end of the day, only you know the actual answer!

more cons than pros.
there is the randomness of life that is out of our control and there is our approach which is within out control
going into anything without being open to the experience significantly increases negative outcomes
going into something with a willingness to be wrong about preconceived assumptions and without resentment about past experience significantly increases positive outcomes
We essentially find what we are looking for in adventure. If we are looking to find reasons to not enjoy our time, we find it, if we look for something to appreciate, we find it.

Pros: The Game
Cons: Still no Jellyfishor Owls.
Its hard to narrow down if its good to come back or not, for me, i will probably always come back, for some one who wants a casual pve game, probably not. As for pros and cons, if its been over a year since you have played, too much has changed to list every major change there is.
If the game was too tedious before, well you can now get supplies faster than ever and sell loot in the blink of an eye, as well world events are much more balanced. If you want more fight in the game, arena is closed but a new pvp mode has arrived that works better than its precursor.
It all just boils down to what you want from the game, so look into some of the changes, boot it up, and see whats good. What i like out of it, you may not, what i find a hassle you may love.
Do you guys have a list of pros and cons?
Pros:
- Solo has looting has become a cake walk.
- World Events difficulty has dropped

It really just depends on how an individual processes a part of the environment they may not prefer
we all do things where we don't enjoy parts of it but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't work out
If it causes regular distress and perspective/strategy doesn't chill things out then yeah that's an issue
but not liking parts of the overall experience isn't necessarily a deal breaker. The environment won't be compatible with everyone but even people that completely are uninterested in pvp can still implement strategy to remove themselves from the parts they don't like, sooner rather than later and grab a new server.
A lot of it is just processing and accepting that we don't always win and then working out a personal strategy to keep negative impact to a necessary amount of time rather than let it become damaging.
These days higher risk isn't necessary and gathering/selling is quicker so combining that with regular selling should still allow plenty of progress even with losses/leaving servers.
Seasonal rewards is a really strong system for casual play so for a while even a loss isn't that much of a loss.@personalc0ffee said in Worth coming back to in 2023?:

or Bunnies.
I'm going to say if there was ever a time to come back to the game, this season is it.
Season 8 was a decent season sure, but it only really had the new pvp matchmaking
I feel like Season 9 takes everything that the game has been adding and working on, and really brings them to the best versions of themselves. Every world event has been made more viable by lowering the health pools of PvE enemies. This alone makes them more attractive for players since you get the same loot as before, for less time put in. This in turn naturally ups potential PvP encounters for world events as well. Another small thing added that makes a world of difference in the flow of the game is the new harpoon mechanics. Being able to transfer loot in a fraction of the time opens players up to be more proactive with how they choose to spend their time. These two changes alone make the game's flow change drastically. The game is no longer as daunting as it once was. Before in order to have a decent session with this game, I'd argue a player would need to invest upwards of 3 hours into the game. However now with these changes, I've been on solid runs and finished within an hour of gameplay. The tedious aspects of the game have been drastically cut down, leaving time and more opportunity for the more interesting bits of the game.
Theres still glitches and hacks that people use to exploit, but rare says theyre fixing them.. so theres that. That being said, I fully believe this is the best state the game has been in yet.
an Huge improvement for me it was the system of the harpoon, now you can grab stuff on your ship automatically. the game is balanced, specially the world events in based of the crew size, and in general has been speeded up. now if you are a captain you can sell ALL stuff directly to the sovreign (the guy with the white hair like george washington placed in every outpost in the purple tower), you can refill your ship from the fatty ladies that keep beaten that baller tap since 2018 or using a storage crate to grab all the stuff from the barrels on the islands ( it only cost 5k to the merchant once was 17k gold FHS). so. the game has really change and for me you have a lot of stuff to do now
