Fix Flintlock Sights PLEASE

  • Why are the sights on so many flintlocks off from where the bullet lands??

Half the flintlocks are unusable if you actually care about hitting your shots.

I understand it’d take quite the effort to go back to old models and adjust the sights, but Rare please do there are too many wonky ones.

(At least fix the legendary spirit one 😘)

  • Functionally only 1 specific model has an iron sight, the rest are just a fancy model, something like the kraken pistol is dead on accurate, but i dont think they intended it to be, it just happened to have an accidental perfect sight on it.

  • I second this, I wish I didn't have to feel limited to using only a few specific pistol models.

  • Phuzzybond has a video on this and the best pistol to use. If that’s useful.

  • You have sights?

Really I don't mind eyeballing shots, but I don't like the bulky pistols where random chunks of the model stick out so high that they block what you're shooting at.

Party boat pistol is a major offender.

  • I got used to the flamingo and the bonecrusher flints. If you like a flint, learn it's sights.

  • @pithyrumble you gota be a dead eye sea dog to master those two pistols daym 💯

  • @hornet-hill-19 It's all about familiarity honestly. Even contemporary arms manufacturers differ on combat hold, center hold, or pumpkin on a post with their iron sights. You have to learn how to use your favorite, they're not all the same even IRL.

  • @goldsmen So many flintlock models come to some sort of point in the middle, but it’s usually a bit off to the left and down from where the bullets land unfortunately.

Seems like they could just move the mesh of those points over a bit and it’d fix the whole problem.

  • @jaxycafe I don't understand why you even call it a "problem." You want an iron sight, go use the mercenary pistol. Like the way a flintlock looks, learn how it fires. What's the problem?

  • @lordqulex truth!

  • @jaxycafe I don't understand why you even call it a "problem."

I don't used the word problem, but a lot of these flintlocks have missed opportunities to great guns.

    • Bilge Rat Flints
      - Has a perfect point at the back of it, but when you aim down you can see it because its a little too low (could curve up a slight bit so we can see it)
    • Sovereign Flints
      - Jewel could be adjusted a bit into the center, and the way the barrels rounded is confusing especially when light reflects
    • Barnacle Flints
      - Barrel comes to a point at the top, but its way off to the right
    • Hunter Flints
      - Has a perfect point, but bullets go higher than it says
    • Parrot Flints
      - Has a perfect point, but bullets go lower
    • Wild Rose Flints
      - Honestly the rose is just way too big and distracting for anyone to use this (but could be cute it the rose shrunk)
    • Ashen Dragon / Eastern Winds Flints
      - I lOve how these guns look in the hand (and they have sights!), but the back is way too big and the gem covers the entire thing.
(So much potential if the gem and back of the gun were lowered to not cover the entire gun)
    • Legendary Spirit Pistol
      - Comes to a point at the front, but its off to the left (Such a beautiful gun, but it lies)
    • Masked Renegade Pistol
      - Could be one of the coolest flintlocks with a glowing red sight) Feels unfinished and has too much wonk)

Most the others are wither fun because of their wonk or good, but these are the ones that bother me.
Love the SoT's art style, but imo all these guns would feel and play better with those changes.

    • Bilge Rat Flints
      - Has a perfect point at the back of it, but when you aim down you can't see it because its a little too low (could curve up a slight bit so we can see it)
  • I use the silent barnacle pistol, no sights at all lol

Plenty of flintlocks with perfect sights if that's what you need
