Press T to see chat history feature request

  • Hi,

I think the "chat input box" that pops up when pressing T would be a whole lot nicer to use if it would show with the last couple of messages that were received by you.
That way you know exactly what you're replying to and you can be sure you're not (unintentionally) ignoring someone.

    TL;DR
Press T to see last chats would be cool feature

  • And on Xbox?

  • Yes, just yes, i have known very few games that when a message clears that you cant see it again when opening chat menu and its always a small annoyance that i forget about as quickly as the chat cleared so i never remember to provide feedback on it, but it would be nice for sure.

  • Alternatively, have it display on the right side of the screen when the settings menu is initially brought up. That way, it can easily be viewed by controller players as well.

  • For Xbox put as like left d pad or right d pad

No those are already free for binding for other things.

  • @personalc0ffee some people use default binds

I do not and I don't want something interfering with my binds.

The only ones that should be able to see chat history is Rare, for reports.

  • @personalc0ffee then you can change it to whatever button you want

  • I think adding it to the right side when you press the button for menus would be the most consistent across platforms without the need to sacrifice buttons for anyone.

I also agree I'd like a way to at least see the last couple of chats or however many fit into the designated space of a chat window.

I play with a couple of people who are unable to use voice chat and sometimes I can't read what they said fast enough. So a way to see the message or two that just disappeared or a setting that allows me to pick how long the text is on screen before it disappears would be nice.

  • I don't mind this but wouldn't use it, I don't actually have text chat bound (xbox player) as I use my buttons for other things
