The Armada Update (Clans, Factions, etc.)

    Over 5 years, 9 seasons, whatever you call it, SoT has created countless friendships and fostered a scurvy gaming community. We've been in group texts, discords, xbox clubs you name it........ but wait, what if we could actually name it? What if the 8 of us (or 20+) could name and represent a clan of sorts and have a Group Emissary ledger rank?

    Idk how it'd work exactly (# registered Captained Ships per Armada?), but working together to be the best Armada on the ledger would certainly drive engagement in the game with the homies.

    Excellent idea, only thing that I could see that would be a problem is the zerg size clans would be way unbalanced compared to smaller size clans.

    Some kind of guild feature would be cool.

    The big problem is how could you play together?

    If you are all on one server than that would be safe mode, in effect a private PvE server.

    I actually had this thought the other day when they were talking about social options in upcoming seasons. I think Clans/Factions would be a great idea where you collectively work together overtime to get Clan/Factions limited cosmetics and they could do something on the lines of Clan Wars. There is quite a lot of possibilities when it comes down to it.

    Yeah, and while I've done it in the past and would like to see it possible again, even duos would be seen as imbalanced.

    Maybe allow 2 ships per group (maybe just 2 brigs) and give a respawn penalty across the board to them.

    I do think this is coming. Seems like it was hinted at in the orb stream. Definitely something SoT is missing.
